I got a cheque in the mail from a "Mr Swan"... I can sell you a nasty set of Nankangs Richo if you're interested? And if there's anyone in the Bne area who needs a spare Grandtrek tyre (no rim) "As new", PM me...

Well done Craig, now lets give those ruts another go at Ormeau lol. Interested in your comments re wheel alignment settings. Be keen to know what you find. I had an old 83 Hi-Lux I put a set of AT Yokohama's on and never did another wheel alignment. Sold it after 110,000km. These 'modern' independent suspensions seem to need regular adjustments. Best insurance is a regular alignment. MT recommend 10,000k intervals and they will guarantee them for 80,000k I believe. Hate to make a claim I'm sure like most warranties it wouldn't be easy.

      • Thanks Hazza.
Been trolling the threads and of most use to date is this link Wheel Alignment Data re setting it up. Dropping my Prado off to TyrePower Albion tomorrow for new shoes and an alignment so If anyone has any better info, I'm all ears...
If it doesn't feel right then I'll go see the fellow that rob_macca recommended. Just a bit far for me to go to normally...

        • At long last I have new shoes on the Prado! Got an awesome price at $360 ea for the five, plus $55.00 for the wheel alignment, so all up $1855. I left the bloody wheel alignment settings at home, so I had to trust their settings and will keep an eye on the tread wear.
With the ATZ's on, the Prado now sits 20mm higher all round. (bonus), and I will do a speedo check against the GPS tomorrow, as the speedo was spot on pre ATZ's. I also have temporarily packed out the spare wheel carrier until amts' new spacer is available. Also, there is a definite hum with the ATZ's compared to the street rubber I had on, doesnt bother me, but I'm sure SWMBO will let me know all about it but there is a volume control on the dash that fixes that...

          • Traded down from the MTZ 4-ribs to the ATZ 4 ribs and had them fitted to the prado 2 days ago...

Missus has already quizzed why the new tyres are so quiet on the road and that she misses that MTZ hum (which drowns out the kids)!!! Either way I am happy with them and they should last a little longer given the percentage of black top due to the prado being the daily driver.

Jacob's Tyres in Blackwood fitted them, and I was very happy with the service Grant provided, will be going back there again!

                      • Kind of... Actually popped down to a bolt shop and grabbed some longer Bolts and spaced the carrier out with a couple of M12 Nuts on each Bolt. So final result was an extra 20mm which sorted it... (Thanks for the pics today!!)

                          • Well done mate now we have an extra spare between us lol

They do rumble from the moment they start to roll but very little noise considering their ability as you seen at Ormeau.

                            Lets get them dirty soon.
