Re: How many Km r you getting out of ya rubber

cooper ST's travelled 55,000, 2 years old, would definately expect 100,000 from them.

1 replaced under warranty due to minor side wall split..very minor.
Others have slightly chipped tread due to rocky roads & lazy driving habbits.

rotated every 10,000 cos the front left gets chewed

Just cleared 100,000km on my BFG A/T's.

Few nicks and scratches on them, but i'd expect nothing less. Never had a set that didn't clear the magic 100 mark (mud or A/t).

Re: How many Km r you getting out of ya rubber

HI guys, been along between posts for me as I have been OS with work for awhile and I am now living in SE QLD. Today I replaced my original Grand Treks which I got 74500KLMS from them. While they have not been full on off road for large amounts of time, they have towed boats around the place and they have been great on the firetrails, etc that I have been on. The Tyre shop guy said I could maybe get anther 7K out of them but I eered on the safe side and fitted 5'X BF 265/65/17's..... After all the hype I hope they do me well, especially around the islands around here.
Alot of my research on these tyres have come form experiences on this site so thanks all for contributing.

78,000kms out of a set of Cooper ATR on 07 GXL at present but about due for replacement, probably go with Coopers again as no flats or problems with them although have pulled a couple of screws out of them.

59,000km from original Grandtreks. Still gripped on the road but no good off road. Went for BFG's and could not be happier.

My mate and i both have 694 bridgies, mine have done over 50k with probably 20k left, i had a look at his today and his have done over 70k with a least i reckon still 20k in them, about the same as mine, if he gets 90k that would be impressive. We are running 36 psi all round.

Only managed to get around 49K out of the grandcraps with approximately about 1-2K left in them. Due to a promo BFG were having on the A/T, I decided to scrap the GT's in favour of the BFGs.

I have a set of BFG's on steel rims that I use of road, and use Grandtreks on road. The last two set of Grandtreks both did 80,000 plus. I find them a very good road tyre and do about 120k each day, to get to work and back.

Wow Bazza, is that a record for Kms for the Grandtreks? I use to check pressure every second/third week and adjust as needed, but mind you I dont know what the previous owner was like... Maybe its the way I drive

Re: How many Km r you getting out of ya rubber

The secret of getting 80,000k plus out of sets of Grandtreks, is to commute on freeways/tollways each day ( Mount Annan to North Sydney ), run the presures up higher a bit, rotate them at every service, and check the wheel alignment and presures regularly. I ran three sets on my old 03 model, and will continue to run them on my 09 model. I've never got less than 80,000 out of a set of Grandtreks doing this.

So far have put about 50,000ks on the wifes STTs and they still have plenty of grip on and off road, will see how they are looking after our Cape trip this year.

Re: How many Km r you getting out of ya rubber

On my second set of ATR's 70k out of the first but less on this set expected 265/65/17 i think the main difference with the moet recent set is the car is probably 150kg,s heavier with acessories and has done a lot more towing. I feel that they do not like the extra weigh expecially up front with the ARB bar. I think iwill go some BFG's next and maybe keep the best ATR with a steel rim for a get out of trouble second spare.

Opinion great for the city and a little off roading but once the acessories and some decent dirt is put into the mix the LT construction is required. The 70 profile LT's may do better but i think i will try something else
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

                            Hi Guys,
I'm looking at getting a new set of tyres and would be interested in hearing from the N.T. members, what tyres are you running and how man Km's did you get out of them?
I'm currently considering either Coopers ATR, Coopers S/T and or BF Goodrich A/T.

                            Cheers

I'm on my second set of Cooper ST's. They have already done around 55,000 km and are almost half way through their life.

The first set of Cooper ST's lasted 125,000 km and were only rotated once. The spare has done only 5,000 km in the past 4 years.

More than happy with the Cooper tyres and will be using them again when these wear out.
