Tyre Traction Length

Finally took the time to set my tyre deflators. I also measured the traction length of my Dunlops (yes when they wear out) as I am planning a Victorian desert trip shortly.

Pressure Traction Length
36 PSI ( Hwy mode) 220mm
28 PSI 235mm
24 PSI 250mm
20 PSI 280mm
17 PSI 290mm

What pressures do you use in the sand (desert sand)?

Did you end up getting an answer for this - did a search and couldn't find a reccomendation on pressures for sand driving.

BG, you should get by in sand with 15 -18 psi.

I generally drop to about 16psi and gets me most places in sand. Saying that I have had one ultra soft beach that I had to drop them to about 8psi just to get out.!
