I try not to carry any more items that only have one use than absolutely nescessary. I carry a Sidcrome socket set so not only can i undo the wheel nuts with it using the crack bar, it is also good for any other repairs.

    Cheers Andrew
    Agree TOTALLY Chester/Andrew,

How many of you PP's are running around with trailers on? Bet your Toyota wheel brace will struggle with the 19mm Holden nuts ops:

I used to carry the wheel brace when towing, but now leave it in the car all the time. Still, it's the thought process the tyre fitter went through (or more obviously didn't go through) that's worrying.

I now carry a Superworks Wheel Wrench - Extension with 2 double ended sockets. The socket sizes are 17, 19, 21 & 23mm.

Hey Nige you will actually find that weather deliberate or by accident that the 4 size wheel brace will fit most of your suspension chassis nuts etc on the goldstream i use it all the time to take the back bumper on and off to fit it in the shed. Bonus as it saves carrying more tools
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

That's handy to know! Just need to remember at the appropiate time! I did remove the bumper to weld the wheel carrier bracket whilst in Port Hedland but had a suitable sized socket with me.

Re: How to confuse a tyre fitter

i found that most tyre fitters arent the sharpest pencils in the pack, if ive got a slightly different than usual senario with a job i ask can i give you a hand, usually end up doing most of the work myself, at least you know the jobs done right
I guess that the poor tyre fitter does cop quite a bit of flack for not being too sharp but I can definitely guarantee that I did not train any of those poor blokes you had to deal with  ops:
