Yup, it is still available in our market and still cheaper than the cheapest 5 door model and better equipped too (now with NAV), but I would not buy it because it has no cruise control!!!!! I am still pushing the dealer very hard on why they cannot order one for me or retrofit a cruise control on the car . . . I looked at the Pajero 3 Dr, nice car, but almost zero cargo space with the rear seats up, where the Prado has a generous boot space. Also, I find the Pajero's approach angle to be too low, thus the need to replace front bumpers which can be expensive. On that thought I will go pay them another visit to see if they have any killer offers before year end.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket kits that would allow me to fit cruise control on the 150? I have easy access to parts in this part of the world.

No idea on aftermarket cruise kits for the 150, I'm pretty certain all of ours come with cruise.

At least you guys still got access to three doors, we aren't that lucky here in oz. Depends on how desperately you want CC, I didn't have it till my second car - I think. If I were you - I would try to overlook that feature, if you can, unless it is active radar CC. Then, again - coming from the guy who paid extra 7k to get auto headlight on/off*.

        * Just to clarify - I didn't pay 7k to get that feature alone. But to get that feature, I had to add luxury pack, which include bolstered sport leather seats, dual zone climate control etc. At least I had the option back then though.

Those marketing guys are experts in bundling that one feature you really want along with a host of others that you do not. Its the name of the game, you have to play it or order a bog standard car and try to retrofit the options you want, that only works half the time, especially for gizmos that have to be integrated with the car's modern electronics.

I actually took one for a test drive and said yes to the salesman and then found out someone else was about ten minutes in front of me.

They couldn't find another one in Australia.

When a Prado SX came available to test drive it was a bit downmarket from the Paj and had no Nav.

When the salesman asked what it would take to buy it that day I replied an offer too good to refuse.

It was way too good to refuse and was in stock.

            No regrets.

Seems you were correct, there was a Petrol R three door for $40,999

Never saw one and I thought they were all diesels.
There are many petrol models around, Diesels are harder to come by as people are keeping them.
My NS Series R Spec (povo pack) Diesel was $42K RRP ($40K for the petrol) purchased in 2008 and paid $39K new off the lot, the X Spec was $52K and $50K respectively plus $500 factory option for the rear locker.

The dealer tells me they will also build a SWB for the next model change of the Prado, expected in 2018!!!! Any news on spy photos? I for one hope they fix that ugly looking face and bring the wheel arch fenders back. In my opinion, my 120 SWB looks a whole lot better than the 150 SWB.
