also do the zr's have factory rear diff locks?
i read that they have a diff lock switch. just want to clarify that they do have a diff lock .

You have an option ... you can have standard cetre diff lock with Dynamic radar control (this is where the cruise control keeps a set distance from the cars in front of you, handy if all you want to do is drive down the freeway) ... Option two is centre diff locks and rear diff locks ... we chose option two.
You can't have the rear diff lock and the radar control as they interfere with each other.

Good choice going the diff lock option. i'd be looking at the same. ive seen a few used examples at dealers lately that had cruise pack fitted to them. so count them out.

I'm still looking at getting a Prado... so much want...
The problem is that i'll be getting it on novated lease... But because my company does not want to pay the luxury tax, they are limiting us to $55k...

I really want to ZR... what prices have you guys been getting them for?

We have done over 30k in our ZR, mostly towing a camper trailer. We remain very imprssed with it for performance, comfort and towing ability. However, we have seen very few. Many many times we have been approached by people who have not seen one.

Hi ,We have our Sandstone SX and love it .ARB bull bar Hella 4000 lights, pencil, phone aerial, GME uhf radio, extra 12 volt outlets in the rear ,By Pass oil filter AMSOIL, transmission oil cooler 20k BTU, soon fitting a engine oil cooler as we do a fair amount of towing .roof racks, fire extinguisher in the rear,mats and dash mat and seat covers air bag compliant and Piranha duel battery system N73 battery, K&N air filter,Now working towards a slightly harder suspension with a 3" dump pipe and exhaust system and a snorkel also a bigger fuel tank, hopefully .The economy and power is just what we need we are very pleased at this stage, we have done 10k Cheers Foxy :mrgreen:

Not sure what the ZR with Cruise Pack loses but I lost:
Rear Diff Lock
Crawl Control
Drivers' Door Mirror Camera
Multi-Terrain Select

I gained DAC (Downhill Assist Control) and crash prediction

Hope this helps.

G'day not sure if you have made a decison on a 3 door Prado as yet but I wll say that ours after nearly 12 months is just brilliant. We tow a 21 foot full size van with absolutely no problems plus it is beautifl around town. My wife loves the parking ability due to its shorter length.
It is an absolutely fabulous car.

hello, yes we picked our zr up last friday.
so far, happy, extras installed, bonnet protector, lights protectors & window weathershield protectors, tow bar.
nudge bar is obstructing the front camera view.
so if anyone has a solution to this, please let me know

Ordered my ZR with offroad pack on 12th March . It arrived on 17th March ( Made Jan 28th ), Complied Feb 28th , Crystal pearl. $62k drive away with towpack , tints, mats.
Have done 700kms this week and love it.
Also have a Range Rover sport 2010 model and the ZR has far more functions , comfort and hands down a better vehicle. Can't wait to go offroad with it . Driving to Melb from Brissy on friday so will see how she goes on a long trip. Wife loves the seat warmers.

Only thing i dont like so far is the suspension. Wallows like a stuffed pig. Needs an upgrade I feel.

For the money , hard to beat .

Does the ZR have ride adjustment? The 5-door thread has a posting on the wallowing and I met a guy who complained that his Kakadu "floated". My guess is that he was opting for the woosey COMF ride. Change it to NORM or SPORT and the handling is better

Hi first timer to the hole blog thing.

I just receved my 2011 SX 2 months ago.
I got it for 62,000 with a ARB towbar and all round tint 150000km warranty and that fabric/paint protection. which i have given it a good run allready done 9000km.
I have taken it 4WDing and the only thing bad thing i have to say is the down hill assist is way to quick. If it is smooth gravel then its good but with steps or ruts its a hole lot of fun.
Fuel i have averaged 8.3L/100km and that is combined 4WDing as well. towing a ton i got about 14.3L/100km. But on the new vortex stuff i got 7.8L/100km combined
Im going out this weekend in some mud I'll post some pix. But this is ANE for now.
