If you look at all the plating around that tow point you can see why I may have difficulty fitting an aftermarket recovery point.

Thats the factory toe / hold down point used when shipping. The issue we are having is that TJM drill another hole to affix there bar to the chassis rail and the OI style recovery points only have a single hole I think I've seen someone fit a set to there 150 with a TJM bar bit they had to modify the recovery point to do so. I like the fact that the roadsafe one have a WLL rating stamped into them, i dont want to drill holes etc into them as that will affect the rating I would imagine.

It may be me that you are talking about as I had to drill holes in the OI points that I got as there were only the holes in the end to suit the ARB bar.
I spoke to the manufacturer by phone and he said that was because he hadn't seen the TJM T13 bar and hadn't realized then, that the points required another hole to suit the TJM bar. He said drill away, which I did and now he sells them with the holes to suit the ARB & TJM bar just like the Roadsafe ones that you have on your post.

They are all holes and the points look identical (without physically holding one in each hand to compare)
How would me drilling the hole, make it any weaker that the one's sold now with both holes like the Roadsafe points?

My OI ones have two holes, presumably to suit both bars. They're only 2 months old. There's a pic in my build thread and they look just like the roadsafe ones to me.

          I rest my case.

have emailed them to see if they have a WLL rating.
            Response received in relation to boss4 recovery points load rating;

No, these points don't have a rating - for a very good reason. The points are constructed from 12mm plate, and are bolted onto a 2mm chassis. If we were to rate the points, we'd need to rate your chassis. Obviously a 2mm chassis is going to give way before a 12mm plate.

There's also no recovery standards in Australia to test to, only towing or lifting standards. Even snatch straps are rated for lifting, and the WLL is calculated based on a Factor Of Safety (FOS), which is usually 1:7.

The bolts supplied however do have a tensile rating of 8.8. We only supply rated high tensile bolts with our tow points.

Thankyou talk2tiny2 I have got Johns email address from your build thread and sent an email to him to see if they will fit TJM bar now that they have an extra hole to mount.

              Will advise response one received.

I'll ask the question of T13 compatibility with these guys as well.
I've had absolutely no response from this seller so needless to say I won't be hitting the "buy it now" button.

I have heard back from Everything4WD regarding the Roadsafe points and the confirmed they have fitted them to the TJM T13 Outback bar without any problems. I am guessing you would have to remove the wing plates from the underside of the bar to access the mount points though. If you look at the pics of my bar I posted earlier you will see it's fairly close quarters around the existing mount points for the bar, I'm struggling to visualize how they would fit. If I can make arrangements with Roadsafe I may head over there on Thursday to try and put this baby to bed; I know I'm not the only T13 owner out there wondering.

They will fit, (the holes should be 190 mm apart) as I would say they are the same as the OI points.

You are correct you do have to take the wing plates off in order to fit the points.

Is that all? I'm hoping you don't have to remove the bar, I don't have a hoist or even ramps to make that feasible.

You do NOT have to remove the Bar. I had a mate who is a mechanic help me and it took about 1 hour all up.

OK thanks Rev, just a bit nervous as I'm not a mechanic (not the car kind anyway)? Now give me a PC to assemble and I'm all smiles!

Here's a pic of the RoadSafe points for the 150 attached to an ARB bar, TJM bar fit is the same I'm told.

Yes , but you have too use the other hole for the bolt.

I found these in Ray's while collecting my recovery kit today :-

                              http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/onlin...02#Description

I'm going to be really dumb here and ask if these tow hooks are suitable as recovery points? Where would they normally attach? They had a cheaper chrome one for $7.99 but I can't find this on the website.

Recovery points are now a sore point as ARB does not make any. When they fitted my bar they would not install any other brands item either (I can understand this to a point). When I asked them about recovery points I was told they do not do any for the 150 front or rear. So what points have been fitted to 150 Prado's both front and rear?

                                SOL.
