Wooley we are getting there slowly, but not as bad as Queensland.

This is true. I was speaking specifically about the removal of seats though.

No we can remove seats without an issue. I learnt that at the SAPOL stand at the show the other week Who knew the show was a learning experience as well

            really!? in a 150? why's that?

I remember I had my 'race' car defected once because the rear seats had been removed along with seat belts etc. The cage also meant no one could sit there... there were some other issues also but they were especially grumpy about the seats.

I'll double check, but that's how i understood what was said to me.
I'll tell you something else he told me about driving lights. This interested me as i have a pair of spots and want to put on a pair of spreads as well. We are allowed to have four driving lights. GREAT... spreads here i come BUT the high beam of your headlight is technically (stupidly) a driving light. So i already have four driving lights, which will probably become six!

And they have to be in pairs... You can't legally have 3.

I've been trying to find information on the removal of seats on the TransportSA website but as it's so poorly designed, finding information is quite a task.

Surely you have to come across a veeeeeery bored cop or be doing something stupid to get 'done' for something that trivial

The frustrating part is, I can remove the seats if I want them gone forever and pay an engineer $60 for a mod plate to change the seating cap to 5 people easy as you like but if I want to go back to having 7 seats it is another $60.

My understanding is the insurance still have to prove that the removal of the seats was a contributor to the accident, can't see many justifications bar maybe the 50kg+ removed from the back may make the brake bias out of whack if the rear is completely empty? With things like wheels and tyres it is easy for them - yeah that 20mm larger diameter tyre (not legal in QLD) caused the vehicle to brake less effectively so that is the reason you ran up the bum of the car in front.

Masso, could you please post some photos of behind the rear seats? I'm wondering how much room there is there to store bits and pieces or mount radio equipment etc.

Not too bad if it's only $60 each way.

Hey Wooley... will get some shots... but basically as the rear seats move forward/back... you can make as much room as you dare..with seats back full and backrests tilted rearwards a bit... you are about 20mm from the drawers...but i am fitting a cargo barrier.. so will probably have to move seats forward a bit anyways.. however.. will take some shots and see how they come out.
                              cheers

Ahh ok, I'm just thinking that because the rear of the drawers would be vertical? and the seats are on a slight angle that maybe there is a bit of space there.

                                a bit like this perhaps
