Hi mate. Did you get a platform in the end? 1500mm or 1900mm. I also have a Prado Altitude with the sunroof and thinking about getting the 1500mm tray.

Hey veezee. Just wondering how you mounted the light bar to the under side of the platform?? Did you use the rhino light mounts or something different??
Thanks in advance
Brad.

Hi Cathie T
Do you have any part numbers or other info on what racks and platform you used in that picture?
I also want the ability to remove the platform or basket when its not needed up there and to be able to wash the roof!
Thanks

hiya, like VXWesty, I also have a full length Pioneer Platform. I really like it but it depends what you want to use it for. It has pros and cons. Pros, it is light and flat. Cons, it is coated black and scratches and requires Rhino tie down points to be fitted (not a big deal) to tie stuff down. If you want to carry ladders and metal objects, it may not be the best option for you. If you want to carry stuff like wheels, swags, OzTents and stuff like that, it is awesome. I also have a Rhino gas bottle holder and wheel holder that are great. Also recently got a Raptor rack for my maxtrax which were great too. Just got back from a trip to the Kimberley via the Plenty, Tanami, Gibb River Rd and back via the Oodnadatta and Strezlechi tracks, Wanarring Rd to Sydney and had no real issues. The roof rack brackets to the roof loosened up a couple of times along the way (corrugated roads) and we had to nip them up, but they seem to have settled down now. Probably a bit of locktight at install would have been a good idea (but ARB installed them for me).
The height of the flat top is equivalent to Rhino commercial bars (I have had them on previous Prados). I would suggest leaving the platform on the roof as it would be a bit of a job removing it, but not impossible. My previous config was 3 x Rhino commercial bars (that I left on all the time) which was very strong and versatile. For trips I added a full length bolt on Rhino Aluminium rack. The package was rock solid and easy to get on an off, but I could not carry my OzTent because the basket had elevated sides. Thats why I changed config with the new truck. Really need to think about what you want to carry, but I am a fan of the platform.Last edited by CathieT; 28-08-2015, 12:39 PM.

Hi Pete,Originally posted by Piratepete View PostHey VeeZee, I am looking at similar set up to you. Have a 2012 Altitude with OEM nudge bar fitted with 20 inch Lightforce LED light bar. Looking to put led light bar similar to your set up on a Pioneer platform. Have looked through a lot of threads but can't find enough detail. How did you rig up the power for the platform light bar? That is, how did you get it to the roof? Also interested in how you got it to the rear lights.
Is that the 1500 mm long platform? That's the one that I'm looking at because Altitude has the sun roof and talking to people there will be less light spill from the led bar on a 1500 instead of the 1900.
Appreciate your view and any info.
Basically ran power from behind the passenger tail lamp, up under the rear door rubber and then under the black rubber strip on the roof. We had to take the rack off to run it properly, but it looks neat. It means you can't see any wiring up to the rack from outside. Both lights are run off switches in the dash that fit the into the factory blanks.
Rack is the 1900 and I am happy with light position. Almost no glare off bonnet as the light face is flush with the rack and the roof line creates a shadow.
