I took up the 4WD Action offer of the Tigerz11 Hercules winch and went to fit it last weekend to a ARB Deluxe winch bar.
Have to say the whole exercise was a bit of a debacle but we're nearly there.
Just some of the problems I came up against were:
Had to fabricate a bracket to mount control box on bullbar as the brackets that came with it were designed to fit the 2 chrome bars on top of the winch.
Had to make new power cables as they were only 350mm long.
Had to rotate the motor and drill out the 2 blanks for the screws that go through the motor into the end cap.
Also had to rotate the gearbox and here lies my question.
For those that have also had to rotate the gearbox, what position have you got the lever at.
After a couple of goes I have the lever set at say 10 o'clock, looking at the gearbox from the end.
As I discovered after bolting the winch back in, the lever fouls on the bullbar and doesn't rotate the full 180deg to engage.
What is the best position to have the lever so that I can get access either through the top of the bar or through the front?
One last problem I discovered last night while trying to mount the control box; I can't get in to access the 2 nuts underneath to bolt it on, so the winch has to come out again.
No wonder a man drinks!
