Your right. The front camera would be heavily degraded with spotties on the high loop. I guess it depends how much you rely on the front Camera. I really don't use it much, even when going of road, most of my driving is beach driving.

we are going for a longish drive over the weekend, so i will play around with the radar cruise control.

I did go to TJM to talk about their bars and they said they would not fit one of their low or high loop bars on the prado 150 due to the fact they interfere with the parking sensors. ECB on the other hand said it was fine (as does their website). I honestly believe if the guys can lift the bar 4 to 5 mm, the current interference I have will be resolved.

Spotlights are next on my list, will see how we get on.

Thanks Grant. I don't anticipate you'll have any problems with the cruise with the bar alone. But when the spotties are on it might reduce the cruise control's ability to maintain a lock on the car in front when traveling through bends on the road.

      Cheers,

      David.

They do now.. Helps if the bar is installed correctly. The guys had to lift it 4 mm. Radar and Parking sensors all work fine now!

Saw a guy who had genuine toyota nudge bar fitted with lightforce led spot lights. Checked it out & had driving light mounts welded on. Told me the mounts were welded on by Gitsham in Adelaide & they also fitted the spot ties. I've got to say that the genuine bar with these spotties looked great. Now to find a cheap genuine nudge bar on eBay or gumtree

Yeah I've been keen to do this for quite a while. Spotted one a few months back similar to what I'm after and took a couple of pics. Can't say that I'd want Lightforce on there, but each to their own I plan on adding two additional tabs on the upright section for antennas or perhaps extra driving lights.

Have just bought a second hand genuine toyota nudge bar for my 2012 Altitude. Does anybody have fitting instructions or a link to the instructions?
Next thing will be to have mounting brackets for spotlights welded on and buy the ARB led look alikes from SA Led lighting.

You won't be disappointed with the SA Lighting LEDs, get the 185W's. Mark is a nice fella also.

I've also added some bolt on brackets to mount my driving lights when they arrive!

Toyota tho on the install "insisted" that the front parking sensors would keep on beeping cause of the nudge bar and decided to disconnect them....I told them that given it's the genuine bar it shouldn't impact their performance and got them to re-connect the parking sensors....needless to say I was right!

                      Vasilako,

How does it effect the camera's field of vision?

These are the clamps that I put on...

                          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-BULLBA...item3f3e81e3b5

They aren't too bad for a fleabay job....The bottom bracket does have screw threads plus the nut underneath, don't notice any movement on them at all

Got my 2nd hand nudge bar off gumtree for $80. Normal retail about $600 for the OEM nudge bar. Local dealer CMI Toyota at Cheltenham kindly printed off install for the nudge bar for me. Fitting instructions say 1 hour.. Took me 6 hours and with some panic. have Altitude with front sensors, no problem at all with operation.

After much deliberation, decided on the SA made Lighforce light bars, the 20 inch single row combi. Rang SA Led lighting 4 times, left messages, no call back. seemed shonky so went with Lightforce. They were great to deal with too. Lightforce make brackets to fit the 75mm tube specifically for their light bars and Prado 150 OEM style light switches too. I know spotties are better for long distance but this light bar is remarkable. very happy with this bar and light arrangement.

By the way, Lightforce said that their led light bars are actually made by Aurora, said that they were the only supplier they had confidence in.

Do the fitting instructions require the removal of the bumper bar and grill?

Could you possibly put up a copy of the instructions or email them to me?

                              Thanks,

                              S.

Hi sweet pea.... Yep fitting requires removal of bumper bar and grill. Followed the instructions to the letter. Hardest part was disconnecting front sensors as I have the 2012 Altitude. You have to cut the black plastic grill with a square at each end for the bar connections to go through and connect to the chassis. I had a spare grill that the guy I bought the bar off had left over after fitting a bull bar so used that one and kept original intact. The fitting also requires that you you cut some plastic flaps under the radiator. The instructions come with templates that you have to use. It's important that you get the instructions with the cut outs from the dealer to get the correct size. I don't have the templates because I chucked them after I used them.

I recommend that you contact a dealer for the instructions so that you get the templates (at the right size and not distorted by copying/emailing). I was nervous about cutting/drilling anything on the Prado so I recommend you get an original.

I took everything that the guy had from removing the nudge bar. Good thing I did as it comes with special bolts and plate for fitting the number plate.
