Went to the local Toyota dealer today and it was just a matter of re calibrating the unit correctly.
Apparantely the unit had been calibrated to 30 psi tyre pressure and as I had inflated the tyres to 40 psi, that upset the unit!
It is now calibrated to 40 psi with a margin of error of +3 to -3 psi. We shall now see how it goes!
Many thanks to all who answered my problem with suggestions - all answers were greatfully received!.
Many thanks again.
Glad to hear that it's all good.

G'day ithommo, I too have had the same problem. I purchased my 150 series GXL new in July 11 with the TPMS fitted. Since then I have had it replaced (entirely) at the 20K servicing and am now having the same issue coming up to 35K. Toyota here in South Oz don't seem to know how to fix it but I'm assuming ill be getting another new TPMS under warranty on my next servicing.2011 KDJ150 Prado GXL D4D: Genuine bullbar & towbar, ARB dual battery system with REDARC isolator and REDARC EBRH brake controller, Lightforce 170 Striker HID spotties, GME TX3440 UHF, Safari Snorkel, EvaKool 45L fridge/freezer and twin headrest master/slave DVD/media players. Ntp....no comment from this end....it's peaceful here at the moment.
Wooley, It's driven daily, and yes you are right, the batteries are charged via motion (I found that out with the spare). Overall very happy with it when it works AND toyota have been very helpful throughout. It's just frustrating when it doesn't work!!!2011 KDJ150 Prado GXL D4D: Genuine bullbar & towbar, ARB dual battery system with REDARC isolator and REDARC EBRH brake controller, Lightforce 170 Striker HID spotties, GME TX3440 UHF, Safari Snorkel, EvaKool 45L fridge/freezer and twin headrest master/slave DVD/media players. UPDATE!
Am glad I got this device working.
Had a piloting trip to a mine site north of Newman last week.
While on a dirt road the unit started beeping. On stopping, sure enough one of my rear tyres was going down.
Had to put the spare on, even though it was in 43 deg heat!!
As it was a dirt road, am convinced the unit saved my near new tyre from wrecking!Thommo.
