Gday Steve, I've got a Waeco slide underneath a 45L Evakool travelmate fridge/freezer. I've made a false floor which I've secured using the anchor bolts and built a box around the fridge using the speedy frame that you buy from Bunnings with matching grey marine carpet. It allows me to maximise the space in the boot whilst ensuring ventilation for the fridge motor. FYI, I've also shimmed the genuine Cargo cage to give me an extra half inch in the boot as well.

    Cheers
    Purdo

Cheers Purdo, did you make the false floor across the whole back?

Yes I did. I used the genuine rubber boot mat as a template then cut it out of 12 mm marine ply. Having a full false floor provides greater rigidity and hence less twisting than if you had a half floor when a full fridge is extended on the slide. I left both seats in by the way so all I have to do is undo the 4 bolts and slide out the whole kit if I need to make it a 7 seater.

          Thanks Purdo.
I am really keen to find a mounting solution that allows use of one seat. I'm thinking I may wait and consult the local 4wd stores. I used the ARB Cargo Gear rails in my current car and I may have to go this way again.

          Sorry about the small image.

I am working on the same thing.
Full sheet of ply, using the rubber mat as a template.
BUT, I plan on cutting the hole for the third row seats, so the seat comes down over the false floor, at least on one side. If I need both, the false floor will come out..

              Hopefully, this weekend...

I have the canvas ARB cover on mine so it's not too bad. Canvas can be rough on the skin though....

I was waiting for a reply like this.

This my not be a bad idea for the 150. A full false floor with a cutout and hinged panel for one seat to still function.

Question 1: From me, or in general?

Question 2: Wanna share photos? I don't have one of me mounting my fridge, just my tyre..... which I am sure NTP or AJ will post in about 3,2,1, seconds from now.

2: No sorry, no photos. The fridge is out of my car atm and turned off. So 1, it doesn't vibrate and 2 it's in the dining room and I'm sure that family doesn't wanna see that.

Let us know what you decide. I am also looking at how best to install my engel but need to retain the use of one of the rear seats (or leave a child behind which may be easier). Would be great if I could install ply and a fridge slide to only half but I can't work out to secure it.

Will keep the updates coming if I sort it out jaysea. After taking delivery of the car on Thursday and have a looking the back I can't see a half floor working. It is looking more and more like I will have to use the ARB cargo gear rails.

                                Hi all,

Jaysea007 I too am in a similar boat to you. I have a 150 and need one of the rear seats due to having too many kids (4).

I am looking to do the false floor, and possibly a hinged side so one of the seats can be used. I hope to start work soon, and post pics.
