  • Factory bullbar wiggle

    Hi all,
My factory bullbar on my new 2014 GXL ( when i say factory its an ARB bar ) appears to wiggle , as in move / vibrate when i drive. I highlighted this to the dealer at the recent 1000km service but they said nothing was wrong. I cant physically move it but when driving its very noticeable.
    Anyone else experience this?
    Cheers

That sounds perfectly normal, all Prado's do it. The body is rubber mounted so moves independently to the chassis.

    Cheers Andrew

As AJ said. It's the body of the car moving not the Bullbar

my damn thing wiggles so much that the old gme arial that i got with the spiral steel end piece actually wiggled itself to death and broke off on the way to Cairns last year. Have now repalced with fibreglass one and all fine. Still makes you dizzy if you stare at it too long though !

From my understanding the ARB is mounted to the chassis itself, the cab/bodywork obviously moves independent to the chassis to give us a more comfortable ride. You wouldn't want your seats mounted directly to the chassis or you would feel every bump! So the movement is normal and working as intended.
