Do any of you have a rear bar installed?

I like the look of the Kaymar bar but the price is rediculous! Im thinking about a MCC bar.

I haven't got either but looking at them myself. From looking it seems you don't gain any extra departure angle from the MCC as it still uses the stock towbar. Suppose it depends on how much you value that

      Yes I noticed that.
but the kaymar bar is nearly twice the price!

I have the Kaymar on mine. Very happy with it. I picked it up at a 4wd / Camping show saved a bucket load of cash. Very happy with the build quality and the little things that come as standard ie brackets for light pole (mine came with the light as part of the deal).

Yep, that's what they charge for it all fitted up. I would get one again in a heartbeat. If you take into account you don't need to fit a towbar it brings the price down a little, or pushes the price of the mcc up. Agree with the finishing touches, it just fits right and works without fuss or constant adjustments.

Outback Accessories bar looks alright too, I'd like to see a side by side comparison with the Kaymar (pictures). What are the differences in clearance?

I have been looking at rear bars mainly as I I want some rear protection when I drop off a ledge or something like that as I've come close to tearing my plastic bar off several times now. I would go for the spare tyre carriers but would only fit them when required for big trip. Does the Kaymar bar offer the type of protection I am talking about as I notice the original bar remains apart from the section where the new bar goes.

Definitely offers that protection, the original rear bumper is only really uses as infill panels, the kaymar wraps around from mudflap to mudflap. Using the wheel carrier all the time will remove the weight from the rear door and hopefully help the door hinges last longer.

I think i might go for the Kaymar bar for now then purchase a wheel carrier and jerry can holder later on. This should bring the price down to under $2500.00.

Hay guys. The Kaymar swing arms are $800 for each arm alone. So might be worth doing the maths to see if it is cheaper.

                        SOL.

I had a look at the costings, it is about $200 +/- dearer if you buy the swing arms separate after the bar. I suppose the advantage is you can spread the cost out a little. If I am financial enough when I take the plunge I'll get the lot in one go!!

$1000 for a genuine bar or this. Choice was simple.

                            Cheers

Yep, I should have done it instead of a genuine bar!
