I'd go to a specialist hose maker and get one the right shape/size/type to replace the one you received.
The consumer law should protect you if you are wanting to push the seller. The item sold is clearly not fit for purpose...

Ok here's the update, the manufacturer has been in contract with me and is sending me a brand new inner pipe that has a brace in it the will not be able to suck closed, they are also sending me a return to sender box so they can check out the old one, so far it's all coming together and for $92 buck might me a real good thing !?!?!

Do you guys find it more noisier after adding a snorkel ?
Referring to engine intake noise, rather that wind noise from the snorkel..

No noise with the drivers window up, when down you can hear a sucking noise, not too intrusive thou I dont mind the noise.

Spend the extra and buy the quality snorkel. They couple hundred dollar you may save will never cover the cost of water in the engine

How did it all go mate?

I am another eBay snorkel fan, bought one for my old petrol 80 and compared it to my mates safari, pretty much an identical copy. Was strong and well put together, though this was 4 years ago, things might have changed.

While I can by a $400+ Safari, the eBay sub 100 jobbie save me $300 for other bits. Good sealant, and test, I don't see a problem, though everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have been eyeing off the Tuff Terain one on eBay. Be keen to see how you went.

I have purchased a very similar snorkel for our 2002 VX auto petrol 90 series, it fits well, the rubber joiner section is fully supported as the short pipe from the filter housing meets the snorkle tail spot on, I did a dry fit to check before fitting the rubber joiner as I have had a similar problem with a Navara work ute, the turbo was sacking the rubber intake flat.
only issue I have is I have replaced the three bolts to the A pillar with good stainless ones and the two screws either side of the intake grate with stainless ones as after a year they were slightly rusty
the quality of the plastic was strong and quite thick , I will buy another when we upgrade
