Just a quick note to let all know that the Icom 450 fits up in behind the passenger kick panel... level with the glovebox.
You need to remove glove box and the glove box carrier, which makes access so much more simple.
There are three captive nuts there, and you can utilise a couple of them to mount the carry tray vertical against the passenger-side wall, right up close to the rubber boot (access to the engine bay for electrics), then route the cables in behind the glove box, where I store my handset when not in use.
Note: the carrier tray mounts with the radio unit partly inserted, do up the bolt, then click it in.....
Simple, but fiddly install... hardest part was cable routing.
