  • ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

Have a friend at ECB (East Coast Bullbars) who have been developing a bar for the 150.

The Bar is a bumper replacement and incorporates the factory bumper sensors (for models which have them), increased approach angle and has three bash plates to fully enclose and protect the underside and cooling equipment.

Bar is 6mm thick hi-tensile alloy, air bag and ADR compliant. He sent me through a photo of it but am having all sorts of difficulty loading it up. Perhaps I could email it to a MOD to put up.

They have also developed a Winch Compatible bar, as well as two styles of Nudge Bars, these haven't yet been photographed.

You can email me the pic if you like JPM21 and I can post it up for you. Although I'm about to head off for a fortnight of fishing, spearfishing etc but still here for another day or so. Otherwise some of the legendary other members will help you out for sure.

You found the thread on posting pictures I take it??

          Re: ECB Bullbar

I wonder if it covers the space between the bar and and the crap looking platsic under the headlights. Might just be shadows in the images but it sort of looks like there are gaps. Also it's probably the highest you would want the bar but I reckon Toyota should be shot as the hight of the headlights is probably too high and you would be getting a resonably amount of glare off of the bar.

Yep, that's an ECB all right.

I like how they have designed a pancake flat bar to contrast with the rounded shape of the new Prado front end. It should stop people in their tracks. (they'll be thinking 'WTF', but it will still stop them in their tracks)

It looks like the original plastic bumper is still behind it with the headlight washers still there. Or are these photoshopped pics?

                  Re: ECB Bullbar

I thought it was photoshopped, but when you look at other older ECB bars they are the same, It is as if there is just one bar and then the brackets are made to suit different makes. It just looks terrible they way it is straight at the fron when the actual car curves in.

Looking forward to the ARB bar. I spoke with ARB today and they said they do have a part number for the new bar already so you can put one on order but no pics or pricing yet. It is expected lat January.
                  Thanks,

I can't understand how the original bumper can be gone when the headlight washers are still clearly there in those pictures :?:

                      Re: ECB Bullbar

I would think the 150 is much like the 200 in which they cut the front bumper back to allow the front bar to be attached so the original headllight washers would still be there if they are high enough up the plactis like the lights are.

I also recall that to allow HID lights you it is a requirement to have the headlight washers just because this is what they do in Europe, altough it may have something to do with distortion.

JPM21 did mention that it incorperated the factory bumper sensors so it may also house other factory parts as well but just not listed in the brief post.

                          Re: ECB Bullbar

Hmmmmmmmm. An improvement over the laughable Toyota bars but still work to do I think. Does seem to stick out a lot at the sides. Something similar maybe but with each side sweeping back a little more to follow the contours of the front end. But difficult to say without a few more angles.

I tell you something. The people who get a decent bar sorted for the 150 are going to make a mint.

Far out, it looks like an angry Chinaman, not much better than Toyota's effort... lets hope ArrrB or TJM come to the party with something a little more appealing.
