    Re: arb gear

Thanks folks for the photos, I'll leave mine on order now. I use the fog lights regularly so I like the placement, also from the photos it looks like we might be looking for some bash plates under the bar, a nice checkerplate aluminium 5mm thick one would really toughen up the look and protect all that new approach angle.

To me the most significant feature is the fog lamp. I have the fog lamps in my steel bar and don't use them. The other noticable differences are the slight change in angle of the hoop bar on the ARB one where it meets on the right and left wings. In the pictures above it also appears that the ARB one may cut up higher above the tyre which may provide for a slight increase in entry angle. The only other difference I see, other than the colour, is the logo. Other than that they are pretty much the same but we should have expected that. I think they both look pretty descent and will do the job and hide the ugly bits on the front of the 150. I'm going to the Adelaide Caravan and Camping show tomorrow, so like Bev (above) I will take some photos and talk to the guys. Will be interesting to see if the bar is suitable to all models include the Kakadu with the funky camera and gear up front.

The important difference for me is in the height of the main pan and the angle of the hoops where they enter the side wings.

The pan being higher mean the clearance should be better.

But the hoops is the main thing for me. By angling them backwards the Ironman is compromised in one of the main areas of protection. Many roo strikes will occur in this area as people attempt to instinctively avoid the collision. Arb know this from their vast experience and therfore put a lot of effort in both the way this area attaches to the pan and the space between the hoop and the front guard.

Too close and it will be pushed onto the light and guard by the impact thereby disabling the car.

        Re: arb gear

I see they have put the aerial tabs back on the top tube rather than having a hole in the wing like they did for later 120 bars
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

Yes but the roof rack is still a better position for a UHF antenna

            Re: arb gear

I forgot to take the camera with me today to the Caravan and Camping Show but I spoke to one of the fellas in the ARB stand about the bar. The guy said the design was to take the existing 120 bar and make it fit the 150. Then they modified the base pan to match the curves of the 150.

Had a look up and under and has the same bash plate construction that the later model 120 bars had. I would suggest that no checkerplate construction is required if you fit this. I would think that, like the 120, that the standard diff protection is a little lacking.

                Re: arb gear

Soke to ARB myself yesterday too regarding some other accessories. I asked about snorkels and guy tells me that Safari are hopeless so dont hold your breathe. Aparently they are not too quick off the mark. I told him I was looking to take delivery of a 150 in Mid July and he said you may be ok. also spoke about suspension. He told me that most of the components off the 120 will fit the 150 however they will only get 40mm lift. A told new 150 suspension kit is undevelop as we speak and will definately give us the 50mm lift we all so desire....
I'm hoping to place and order for my 150 GX in early April for July delivery and want to be able to have the bar, snorkel and few other things on before delivery so they are included in my lease. The timing might just fall into place.

My 150 is in the 'shop now, to have an ARB bar fitted.....finally. I hope.

I'm off of the w'end, so you'll have to wait until Monday for images.

                  Well, that's the plan anyway.

Dazz, just be aware that factoring accessories into your lease cost will affect the amount you pay to the government via the luxury car tax and stamp duty - an additional 38% (assumes 5% stamp duty rate). Cheaper to lease the car and pay for your accessories later if you can afford to. Every $1000 you spend on accessories, you pay an additional $380 to the goverment. Spend $10k on accessories, kiss goodbye an additional $3,800. Ouch!! If you get a good fleet discount it might drag you under the $57,180 luxury car tax threshhold.
