Hi brogers. Sorry I have been out of reception for a bit.
From memory for the most part I was in sports mode. Between Bathurst and Cowra I did some experimenting on the hills and found that the trans stayed cooler with it in Sports mode.

I used the Ample config for the 150 (2009 model) and found that when the AT warning light came on the Scangauge reported 150 deg C (that is what I was told by the driver). I find the temp commonly went to 120 when accelerating or driving slowly and not in S mode. When you keep the revs up over 2500 RPM the box locks and the temp stays around 90 deg C even when towing.

With the new 2013 Prado the temps seem to be much lower. Even when towing it seems to peak out at under 110. Interesting.

        Nifty

          Guys,

When I first installed it it read 0psi at idle and when backing off and a max of 12psi.

No for some reason it reads -3psi boost at idle and when backing off, and about 9psi max.

(pretty sure its v4.02 but I may have seen v4.12 but I will confirm)

This isnt the x-gauge, just the standard BST gauge programmed in.

Im not 100% sure with these fancy diesels, but Im pretty sure they dont run a vacuum.

Is there a way to calibrate the standard BST gauge or do I just need to programme a x-gauge in to read accuratly.

Might try unplugging it and plugging it back in...

          Cheers
          Chris

Is anybody mounting the scangauge inside a Pod or panel?
I've read through here and most people seem to be velcroing or taping the gauge in.
I'd just like it to feel more stock and sleek.
            Any ideas?

Wow VeeZee that looks a great spot for the gauge.
Just interested in knowing the difficulty in getting the cable up to mirror and were you able to use the provided cable or did you have to use an extension?
                Cheers

Vee, I agree with Vegie, that's a great place for it. Am looking at installing one myself in the coming weeks and was wondering where you ran the cable. It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Just thought I'd share where I put my Scangauge
Just to the left of steering column.
No holes, no sticking it to the dash and you don't notice it until you want it and then you can see it through the steering wheel...

                        Hi Guys
I have now installed a Scanguage in my 150 series - mounting point on the steering column.
I programmed in the Auto Transmission Temperature A and seem to be getting the same readings as others in this thread. ie. 85-90 degrees in normal driving, climbing swiftly up to about 120 degrees in city traffic in "D" when climbing and dropping below 70 degrees when running easy on downhills. (No oil cooler yet)

However, I can't get the oil pan temperature to display using the Hilux ATF temperature codes as outlined in this thread. Have tried a couple of times because I am new at this but still no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion?

                        Cheers

                          Hi Guys
Just a quick update - answering my own question. The answer is to wait a while.
Last night, after entering the codes a couple of times and not getting any readings, I posted the question above. This morning I was driving to work and got a reading without changing anything. Not sure why, but just had to be patient. Thanks for those who shared the code.

                          Cheers

How much cable have you had left over when you guys have mounted the ScanGauge on the steering column? If there is a fair bit of extra cable what have you done with it?
                            Cheers

Luke, I had a bit of cable left over, rolled it up, cable tied and slotted it into the right hand side panel at the rear of the drivers door under the dash. Doesn't interfere with anything.

PS from my learning's on here it sounds like your using the code for the torque converter if you are hitting the high 120C temps. (I was too) Use this code from scangauge: Hilux ATF Temperature 5 Speed Auto ONLY 07E121D9 032180000000 1810 0003004DFE70 For 5 speed auto only. Will NOT work in 4 speed Auto models.

                                Thanks chimma.

I'd also be keen to find out whether anyone is using the ScanGauge Deluxe Window Mount. Seems like the lower right corner of the screen would also be a good location, particularly when you can run the cable down the side of the dash.
