    Re: Toyota Genuine Seat Covers

I got them direct from the maker.
Here are the photos they sent me. I have no idea how long it will take to get them.

    No TJM logo on mine.

I am trying to work out whether the wet suit seat cover, covers the rear of the seat? Or is just the front of the seat?

I guess I will find that out when they arrive. The front seats are a generic fit and the back seat is specfic for the 5 door sliding midle row seats.

          Re: Toyota Genuine Seat Covers

Just received my Wet Seat covers for the middle and back rows of my Prado GXL. Wet Seat say the make the Toyota covers but in cloth - so the cut and fit are the same.

They look reasonable - its pretty fiddly fitting them - but was all done within an hour. They don't cover the backs of the seats - and there are a few velcro tabs that in my opinion would have made a better product - will be adding those myself.

They took 5 weeks for delivery from Inland Australia. They were very helpful - but obviously you need to be prepared for the wait. The cost was $300 for each set plus delivery - so total of 660 for the middle and rear row.

That contrasts with custom made, very high quality sheepskin by Mortels for 795 for the middle row - and about 500 for rear row. I think I would go with the sheepskin custom fitted at factory next time.

If you want the Toyota original parts - sydneycityparts on ebay will provide middle row genuine covers for $220 and 3rd row for $200. Delivery in 2 days. I purchased other bits from him - and they are genuine and way cheaper than Toyota direct.

I was told 10 days just the other day for my order of front and midel row seats. That should be the end of this week or early next week. I guess we will find out.

wow I must say (and hopefully i dont offend anyone) the genuine seat covers make the interior look like that of a Hyundai excel. very dissapointing especially at the price theyre asking. The TJM ones do look alot better.

When i finally get my GXL ill be biting the bullet and paying around $2600 to get them re-trimmed in leather by an authorised toyota upholster (private company) who is doing a bucket load of 150 series prados at the moment.

Got my Seat covers in 2.5 weeks from ordering. Not bad I guess.
They fit well especially the middle row seats.
Very happy with my wetseats and once the rubber smell goes away they will be so much better.

                  Re: Toyota Genuine Seat Covers

I purchased a pair of sheep skin covers from Aussie Sheep and Wool in Bestic Street, Rockdale. $340- the pair.

Consist of a full skin for the seat and upright (back), with a wool blend around the sides of the seat and a wool blend on the back of the upright. There is a gap on the outside of the upright for the seat airbag deployment. There are several clips to hold the cover in place, care needed not to damage the wiring underneath the seat. The headrest is covered with a separate piece, skin on the front and wool blend on the back, just slides on and held by velcro strips.

On the inside of the covers are one pocket below shoulder height, big enough to fit a water bottle (already enough holders in the doors). The rear of the upright has a pocket large enough to hold a UBD, however, it covers the pockets on the rear of the seats, which I have already filled with maps. What I did was cut a slot, level with the seat cover pocket opening, so I can access the maps at the back of the seat, and still have the seat cover pocket if needed for anything.

At the front of the seat covers is a small pocket, right in between your legs. May be good for the boys to keep your appendage warm on the cold days.
