Where are all the guys from Sydney or even NSW.....

Iv just called my local TJM dealer here and they say:
    TJM T13 Winch Compatible
    $1650 supplied
$360 to fit as a replacement or $540 to fit if they cut the bumper
    $400 painted

So it looks like a $2600 expense.. Anyone else in Sydney had any luck with the T13??

    Cheers
    Biddsy

Its all relative I guess but i say that the body is not moving (relative to me) and the chassis flexes and thus the bar moves...

If the body was moving as much as the bar (appears to) then it'd be a rough ride and the kids dvd player would skip!
Ok then it's the chassis moving under the body.. Same thing isn't it?

Your moving on top of the chassis really though.. The chassis is what's in contact with the ground.

But you're right it is relative.

Has any one similar ecperience or know of a fix? The bar was fitted by dealer and his response was that it was normal.
My 03 Hilux ARB bar moves not at all.
Yeah that's the body moving on too of chassis. You'll be right. No difference to mounting lights on any bullbar. It's stk attached the chassis.

I have four light force 240's on mine and have no issues unless I hit roos, deer, or birds.

It's not the bar, rather the body moving. I think you'll find the Prado mounting blocks are a lot softer than what you'd find in the hilux. Looks bloody terrible I know, but I've got 2 hid spots on mine and they're fine.

Looking at the paintwork on the panel (Silver pearl)
It does not look to have any primer beneath the silver..
What is the go with painting the infills? I have a T13 Outback bar and the infills are unpainted (was this way when I bought the Kaka), was thinking of having them painted silver pearl to match the body. The plastic seems to have a slight graininess/texture to it, not sure if that's just how they are. Unfortunately the bar was put on before my ownership so the original bar and infill is long gone plus I have the headlight washer kit installed.

They're not that hard to remove but you do have to pull the grille out meaning the Prado would be out of action while the infills are in the panel shop.

    hi mike
good to hear about the painter giving you the choice in the colour . but as you say the bullbar will be covered in dust and bugs rather sooner then later . can't wait til its fitted and then off to Manar Park mud bashing

T13 sensor bar was $1595 plus gst. I also got the headlight washer kit which was $65 plus gst. I've had it painted by Jimboomba Smash Repairs and will be fit by them on monday. They charged about $450 all up.

One thing i found interesting was the difference in colour of paint. They asked me if i wanted the colour of the bar to match the bumper it was replacing or the colour of the car. I thought they were having a lend of me until the painter brought out a 3 inch stack of silver colour cards and showed me the slight difference between the two. The silver on the car has a black tint whereas the silver on the bumper is more pure (if that makes sense).

I know there's been some complaints about bars not matching the colour of the car and i think it was blamed on improper painting techniques over the standard black powder coat. Perhaps the blame has been misplaced.

I don't think i'll be too fussed if there's a slight difference in colour. It won't take long before it's covered in dust and bugs.

went for the underbody guard. with the paint , i have been explained that crystal pearl paint needs more layers of paint and so more time consuming . but i'm not a painter . if you , or someone else knows more about that particular paint let me know. thanks
First I have heard of that but I am no painter either however long ago in a previous life I did organize many bars to be painted in that colour and never saw the pearl be more expensive, I would be questioning my dealer on that as $400 sounds excessive, just trying to save you a few bucks.

Good job in the underbody guards, I think given the same choice I also would have went that way. Cheers Daniel

Good price for the graphite however I am confused on why the graphite would be $400 cheaper given its the same bar and paint process? I did not think they charged extra for the bar with sensor holes either. Did you go the awning or under body guards?
