    Hi Steve,

A lot of this discussion it a bit of fun and or disagreement, all good really, how boring would it be if we all agreed.
Sorry if i hit a nerve, i was just simply trying to point out the road is for vehicles and yes people do need to cross with more care.
Its just so easy to cross the road safely.
I agree with your post, there is plenty of moron drivers also, Im well past being sick of them. (those will never have a smart bar).
I just thought that pedestians taking some care, would make a lot more difference, to their health than a smartbar.
As i said, over the years i have dodged many clowns successfully, it appears to me its the people that know better that could have or have been hit by a vehicle. Im not trying to talk anyone out of a smartbar, personal choice.......

Anyway, ive had my say, no point chasing our tails. any further clarifacation can be out in the bush ey..... c u all out there, or not......

It might be worth doing an advanced driving coarse, they teach you thins stuff.

PS I'm flattered but no, sorry I'm not gay.
Your are correct it is shared, Can I say pedestrians should look before crossing? Trust me it works.... It's so easy......
Or are you saying everyone that gets hit is a child and unaware......? It must be......
Well all the clowns I've nearly run over are the type that don't look or care.....
I'm sure most can agree on that, these clowns need to take more care.......
Anyway it seems you are one of the confused units that thinks they can just step out, and we should be anticipating this.
    Then it's all sorted......

The places where this might happen, they have already dropped the speed limit to 40k,
I can stop, much faster than anyone can get in front of my vehicle at that speed and have, usually morons (like me) not kids.
They generally won't be coming out from the side of a 100k freeway.

The parents are responsible for There children,
I'm not letting my kids run out, even in a 40zone and ya smart bar.
That's sort of thing that would be hard to live with. Driver would not need to be explaining anything to me.

    Are Roads not for cars?

Please do not insult retards they are much smarter than me - not nice.

I know what you are saying about the spring spacers, I will be doing a bit more research before I did this, as I wouldn't want to do an illegal mods, I am also possibly moving to Perth so need to check the legality there too. I'd appreciate it if anyone wants too constructively talk me out of this mod, if they think its a bad move or if they think the front spacers is illegal in Qld or WA, my minds not made up on this one. The main reason I don't want to do a full lift and replace the springs and shocks isn't money, I just really like the Kakadu setup as it is with sports and comfort and the low and high settings.

MLC seems like a really nice bloke to me and I'm guessing he likes I bit of fun but let's face it who would commit social subside by teaming up with me. Shit I know I wouldn't!

PS as for setting Jasen off, I can be quite reasonable and try to only give back what I get. If I'm called a stupid idiot I tend to act like one.
Forget the spacers. Coils are cheap.

I thought I might as well put what I found on here. I take no responsibility for the accuracy of the information and I'm not interested in speculating relationship to bullbars as there is no information available and for all I know there might not have been a single bullbar involved.

How many pedestrians are hit each year?

Australian road death toll in 2011 was 1,291 (Wikipedia, might not be accurate) and of those people who died 15-20% were pedestrians (safe drive directory, could be just a guess for all I know), so by my calculations thats around 193-258 people. It's a lot more than I thought and if thats how many people died there must of been a lot more that were hit by cars and survived.
250 ppl need to look left, look right, look left and listen...... Morons.......

I wasn't going to bother with lifting it, mostly due to cost but thanks to Kakadaz I'm going to put strut spacers on the front and rear self levelling sensor spacers.
    2" lift for under $200.
With the money I've saved I might also get a roof top tent rack.
Not sure if your aware, but if you use strut spacers you should extend your bump stops by the same amount.
It might save you from bending the stock strut.

Sorry guys easy to say you don't care, not so easy to live with yourself after. I never want to go through that.
I care, but I could live with myself just fine, because its so simple, I drive on the road, THE ROADS ARE FOR VEHICLES, pedestrians need to look and listen and look again before they cross on the road, I've never been hit by a car, and don't want t either, that would hurt, A LOT. So if your going to start driving Down the footpath, or go through red lights, let me know, I don't wanna be there.

Yes, I had to cut it when I fitted mine. The template is quite easy to use though.

    Jasen,

    Nice work on the bar,

Ive fitted the Smartbar to my 150. I fitted it with the winch kit bracket and a month later fitted the winch.

On a personal note, I rather like my Smartbar, its white on white and its nice to be able to tell it apart from all the ARB Prados in the car park in my local area.

No, no! The one from the crash test, LOL. We need to verify that your Smartbar really springs back into shape after 48 hours.
