Hi
I had my 150 in for its 1000km "service" While waiting I asked about the mudflap issue and they have added me to the spreadsheet they keep of people keenly waiting for new flaps. I had choked at the $180 dollar price for a 1000km oil and filter change. Spoke to my salesguy who renegotiated for $150 but I still choked. Then noticed the sell a 150 DIY oilchange kit with filter ,sump plug, windscreen washer additive and 5litres of oil (think i need more) for $61.00. Thats my new plan.Best Regards
Charlie
I'm not lazy........I am tremendously efficient!

Hi Charlie, did you pay for your 1000km service ??????
It's complimentary in my service book and also NOT neccessary as stated by my Toyota dealer..?! I have just clocked over 3000kms and will do a 5000km service and change the oil etc..very suprised your paying for a 1000km service..Paul

1000km service is complimentary, however it does not include an oil and filter change. I had my 1000km service and asked about the mudflaps and they said they would put in some form to Toyota to state that I planned to use the Prado off road and that Toyota will then supply new longer mudflaps but no time frame.
Toyota must figure 90% of Prado's never get used off road, well unless you count the gravel car park at the local school drop off as off road

Just wondering what tyre/tread pattern people have on there cars that experience this stone rash ??? I assume the more offroad patterns like the All Terrains, etc would cause more damage to the paintwork than the normal GrandTreks ???
Have people had the same paint-rash problems while running the GrandTreks ???cheers..... Rob (macca)

Good to see such a professional outfit like Toyota give different opinions at each different service centre !! How hard can it be to get it right on a brand new vehicle that they supply with a service manual, yet they still have varied opinions on what a complimentary 1000 km service entails ?! I'm over Toyota already. Will never go to them for a service, my local mechanic will do the warranty jobs for me.
Anyway back on topic, after only 3000kms with A/T's on the car Rob, all I can say is the amount of mud they throw up on the side steps and bumper is astonishing. I don't think it's the tyres, just the poxy design of the mudflaps as has been already discussed. My 120 never had anywhere near the same amount of mud/dirt on the steps and body as the 150 does.Paul

Have had the new mudflaps fitted by Toyota here in Perth, WA. I put Toyota on notice when I purchased the vehicle new in Oct 2010. Was living in Tassie at the time 1 kilometre down a gravel road and sure enough after one month evidence of damage started to appear.
Took a while, but between the Hobart Dealer and Perth Dealer(have since moved to Perth), I had the new mud flaps fitted and damage repaired. So far so good. No further damage.
Happy with Toyota service.

Went and saw my Toyota dealer yesterday and told them I NEED the new mudflaps. One bloke told me their not in WA yet and I politely told him otherwise....
The other service assistant made some phone calls after I refused to listen to his incompetant co-worker and he will have them available to me in the next week or so!
Amazing what you get when you do your home work and no what your talking about...Paul
