rdc offer stands if you want a couple of what I have left over from the 120 pm me an address and I will send them off. You could probably get away with them with some judicious use of silicone. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Question for the brains trust.
I want to remove the RHS roof rail on my 2010 GXL. I can see how the front plastic section comes off to reveal two bolts into the roof, but access to the middle attaching section by the driver door pillar trim reveals the curtain airbag but not the bolts for this part of the rail
I am going to fit 2 rivnuts into the rail to mount the bracket for the UHF antenna and whilst I could do it on the car I would need to know how far back the front mount goes into the rail
Anyone taken these rails off?
Thanks
Geoff

The rails come off easily, just be gentle with the plastic covers and don't break off the little retaining tabs.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Does anyone know if I need anything other than the GX blanking plates when removing my GXL rails? Can I re-use the GXL bolts, washers, gasket/seal etc?
I talked to parts guy at Toyota this morning, and he just ordered the "finish(garnish) panels both left and right, and seemed to have no clue when I quizzed him about needing shorter bolts or anything else.

The parts guy is going to get what he ordered in and we will see from there.
The part numbers are 75596 and 75597 I believe from the EBC;
I have a feeling the "top hat" won't be in the pack, and it will be a painful process getting it right. I want to do it asap as the car barely fits inside the garage.
Thanks amts

The part number for the bracket is 63185-42020. See link below
http://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/jp/...k-panel#63185H
I can't find 75596 or 75597 as the p/no is incomplete, and what is EBC?

The pics I put up on the first page of this thread show the 'top hat' section. The bolts are only common in the centre mount you will need bolts for the front and rear.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I received the top-hat like brackets that have a type of foam on the base, but it doesn't look like it would be watertight and 8 bolts much shorter as expected than the GXL ones, and those bolts have a thick rubber washer on them like the GXL ones. Does the top hat sit straight in the channel on the roof metal with no additional seal underneath it? or am I meant to put the GXL long rubber seals back under that the roof rails sat on top of?Originally posted by mjrandom View PostI just went out to the shed and dug out the bits left over from my 120 GX. Lucky, I wasn't sure what I had thrown out and what was left.
I am guessing the white material is just a bandaid that the previous owner or dealer put on. The parts on a 120 (EDIT: which are different parts to a 150 but look the same ish):

The bracket sits on sealing material which is now bonded to the bottom of the bracket on mine. Well bits of it are. May be like that originally I don't really know, mine just have the vestiges of some form of rubber sealing material on the bottom. Then the bolts go through a cupped washer which in turn has a cupped seal inside (I have shown the bits apart), on mine the cupped seal has seen better days and then the plastic cover clips onto the bracket and just completes the aesthetics.

This shows you how the cover clips onto the bracket. There is a metal latch which in effect holds the cover in place.
These are what you need. Happy to give you two sets of what I have but the seals should be replaced so not sure you can buy those separately, you may be better off showing these pics to a dealer and getting the parts. Also not sure if they are the same parts between a 120 and 150. I believe that it comes as a set for each row, bracket, washers, seals, bolts and cover.
If you need other pics just post here and I will see what I can do.
Michael
EDIT: According to toyoDIY parts are different, the 63185D suits a 120 and the 150 part number is 63185H, bolt assembly is different too 90119-08C47 for the 150, covers are the same 75596-35030.

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_201....html?hl=75596

Something is different so you will need to get the real bits from Toyota. If local is crazy expensive try looking up the parts at Amayama.
Having never seen a GX or GXL setup before, I am just wanting to be sure that I'm not going to put the top hat straight on top of the roof metal in the channel with no additional seal and have it leak down the roof lining or pillars.
I appreciate everyones input thus far

The steel sections sit directly on the roof. The white tubes in the roof stick up inside the holes in the steel section. The bolts sit on top.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
