OK, I have booked mine in for Friday morning, fingers crossed! I know plenty of people have self-installed these but the KDSS seems to complicate matters and at any rate it's a fiddly job I think I'd rather leave to the professionals.

My local TJM stocks the Roadsafe points so should have some experience fitting them.

    yeah.
they were replacing the bar because it had started to develop rust under the powder coat. so while they had it all off i figured it would be easy to put the recovery points on then.

Did you get it done at TJM?

Unless of course your T13 bracket is different to mine, can't see enough of it in the pic to be sure.

Thanks MJ, very detailed photo. Now just the question on the bolts to be answered!

I have heard back from Roadsafe that they have sent stock for testing with TJM to check compatibility with all their different Prado bar mounts. I gave them feedback on the issues being encountered by some of us, hopefully it will yield a positive result.

ETA: I just went out and did a test fit and I think my points will fit using the same bolt locations as yours. As you mentioned the bottom of that bottle cover can be unclipped so should be able to be moved out of the way. About the only holdup I can see is that my Kakadu has no 2nd bolt on the top of the bullbar bracket (the one snuggled in behind the water bottle guard). I believe that is normal for KDSS equipped vehicles but don't know how this will impact the install. Another thing I did note is that all the bolts on the bullbar support brackets on mine are 8.8, not sure if the T3 uses a stronger lower bolt.

The plastic guard is definately not modified. The guard was pushed out of place slightly because it was caught up on the lower recovery point bolt. I had a look and noticed that the guard was meant to clip onto a plastic piece at the bottom of the tank. I checked and there was nothing to stop me twisting the guard around the bolt and then lining up the clip. So voila:

The washer bottle cover looks unmolested but I will have a good look tomorrow.

I have the same plastic cover on my 09 Kakadu so it's not just a 2012 thing. I'm not sure if it's a GXL thing though as I have seen some bull bar installs where there is no cover over the bottle.

I saved a copy of your pic and enlarged it to see any part of the cover has been cut away but it appears not. Can you confirm?

I will ask the question about the bolts as the bottom bolt is definately grade 12.9 while the upper bolt is 8.8...
The bolts supplied with mine are all 12.9 and 57mm long.

Sorry, I didn't get a chance today to test fit.

If I'm not mistaken the photo in the installation guide is of an FJ cruiser. Interesting how in Brains case they used all 3 bolt holes.
yeah - brains' appears to have a different bullbar mounting bracket

    Hi RWO,
I usually just get torque settings off the net. Something like http://www.cncexpo.com/MetricBoltTorque.aspx should give you what your after. It varies on size and grade of bolt.
