I just read through those instructions from roadsafe and it says to "torque to reccomended settings", does anyone know what the torque settings are?

According to Roadsafe's installation instructions (which I have only just found, must be new) the 2 bolt method is correct for a TJM bar :-

If I'm not mistaken the photo in the installation guide is of an FJ cruiser. Interesting how in Brains case they used all 3 bolt holes.

Mjrandom,
Would appear that they have used a 12.9 grade bolt on the bottom and 8.8 grade on the top two bolts.
Is the bolt head size different? The bolts that come with the recovery point are all 12.9 (at least they were with mine).
Your photos have been helpful, ill give it a go to fit mine this weekend.
I wounder if the rating is changed if all three holes haven't been used to mount the recovery point and not all bolts used are 12.9 grade - this is my only concern, it may pay to get clarification from the manufacturer to be sure.

Your bullbar bracket certainly looks the same as mine although I have the T13 (at least I think it's the T13, was on the Prado when I bought it). If you could get one of the other side that would be great as I'm interested to know what if anything they did to get the point in behind the washer bottle guard. I don't have my Prado here right now to try another trial fit, she's at Toyota getting a service.

Pics are not the best but both sides the same...

Looks as though the recovery points are bolted over the top of the existing bullbar mounting frame.

The other side is more hidden as the inner guard and a plastic guard that covers the washer bottle (?) obscures the recovery points even more.
Looks as though the outside hole would also line up with the bullbar support bracket but I am guessing that on the T3 at least the loops would then interfere with the under bar plates.
If any other shots from different angles will be of assistance let me know.

That's fine, a pic is worth a 1000 words as they say. So yours don't use the top holes, funny how there seems to be a few different ways of mounting them.Originally posted by mjrandom View PostPics will have to wait until Friday.
I shot off another email to Roadsafe this morning, still waiting to hear the result of any discussions they had with TJM.

Pics will have to wait until Friday.
Similar to Brains except top bolt holes unused.

You can get the roadsafe ones from Bursons. I just ordered some from them & the price was $126.40 which i think is pretty good. Just have to wait a day or so now as they had to get them from a Brissy store.
Cheers
James

Yeah they are the Roadsafe ones, same as I have. I'll be hanging out for those pics just to see if a) your bar mount is the same as mine and b) how they fitted them (have seen a few different ways now).Originally posted by mjrandom View PostThe quote only lists a TJM part number RSRPPRA150

The quote only lists a TJM part number RSRPPRA150 but as these look the same as Brains I think it is same to assume that RSR stands for RoadSafe Recovery.

Not yet, I had a sneek preview yesterday but the bar was delivered late on Friday so was only just bolted on. Looks nice. The recovery points were still in the back of the car in a box. I hope to get the car Tuesday so will post up pics then.

Well I don't know, even among the T13's there appear to be differences in the mounting bracket design and bolt location. Have alook in the other recovery points thread in the Accessories forum, plenty of visual proof there.Originally posted by mjrandom View PostI doubt there is that much difference between the T3 and T13 'down there'.
Do you have any pics of yours yet MJ?

I suspected this would be the case.Originally posted by Hutch View PostGXL I think u will find a while ago the only point they could get required the removal of the bar to get on, since the things have moved on and that is not the case now as different point have come onto the market for the 150.
Hutch- 2012 Prado 150, some TJM Kit.
