  • Just a quick point to note for those who have upgraded to aftermarket mud flaps and are now heading down the path of following up as a warranty claim, I just had my 40 k service done and the dealer has finally recognized the issue and asked about this, unfortunately it appears that to claim the warranty, they need to return the original mudflaps to Toyota to claim, these were left in QLD when I moved back to WA so will now have to do some negotiating with the service department, something along the lines of if this had been recognized and dealt with last year when I first reported it I wouldn't have needed to replace the originals and we wouldn't be having this discussion, I'm sure that some sort of compromise can be reached or at least I hope so.
Moral of the story, if you have replaced the mudflaps, hang onto them, it will make the warranty claim much easier.

      • Hey All. New to PP and have a new 150 on order. Due to pick up end of April. I have been looking at this issue re- the mudflaps and was wondering whether they have rectified this problem from the factory on new build 150's or is it still a warranty issue. If so, do you think this can be arranged pre-delivery

The latest model will have the revised mudflaps, I saw them on a demo model here in Sydney at the dealer. I actually think they are fitted in Aus anyway or were for a while.

Ill check with Frank, he was making me a custom set for the rears to take into account my additional lift. He hasnt mentioned how soon he expected to get the new flaps out of the shop yet. Will check for you though.

Thanks, I think my SX needs a longer set to replace the originals after the 40mm lift.

                • Got my new flaps under warranty arrived at dealership (not where we purchased our Prado either), just mentioned it at our 40K service and they immediately ordered them and said that any sandblasting etc damage will also be addressed at the fitment , all under warranty. Definitely didn't have to push. Merely mentioned the option of new mudflaps. Hope to get them fitted next week.

OK. Sounds good that they have revised them. Will definitely check though when I pick it up at the end of the month

                    • Hi there,

50,000 + hits, not bad for a Forum that Toyota doesn't care about, because few people read it & most don't believe what's posted on the Internet.

                      • Complained about mud flaps year but suspect dealer had not done anything. Have car booked in next week to get tail shaft greased(again) and rear mud flaps. Decided to only way to get their attention was to book car in outside servicing just to do warranty fixes.

Dealer told me Toyota only do rears mud flaps. Are Toyota replacing the front mud flaps under warranty?

                        thanks

                        • They should be replacing all 4 not just rears.
Read through this thread, I dont think anyone that has had replacement only got rears done. I think the dealer hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.

I am still waiting on mine to arrive and they are replacing all 4.

                            • I was told it MUST be all four. BTW, get your shaft replaced with the new design if it does it (again and it will).
