  • Max,

I might have to do the same. Bumper has been resprayed after the wife backed into a car, it is all new and shiny now. Will call the dealer on Monday and see if I have any luck.

    • Had the new mudflaps installed today during service (front and rear). Heaps better.

Toyota will follow up to repair panel work shortly which is very pleasing.

It has only taken 12 months (and lots of emails) - it was only when I went to Toyota Australia directly that action was taken, and they were really good at keeping me informed and organising the replacements.

        They've got a website up now www.rallyxmudflaps.com

Frank's been measuring up the new RallyX mudflaps on my car recently and I took a set for a run on the weekend, they performed really well. I didn't have a huge run on the gravel but enough to see that they'll keep the stones off the bumper.

Did quite a few rocky and rutted tracks with no damage to the flaps or mounts.

        Difference between OEM and RallyX

Extra width keeps the crap of the car

The only problem I can see with the RallyX flaps is that the front passenger side is way too heavy...

Thanks to DGW for this pic

I've got no affiliation with the company but have spent a bit of time with Frank recently and have been impressed with his professionalism and dedication to a quality product

          • I was one of Rally X first customers and extremely happy with the product and especially with Franks customer service.

I have the new Toyota flaps and with the 2" lift they still don't cover the guards so I will be upgrading to the new rally x flaps.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

            • Just fitted some RALLYX Mud flaps to my 3 door Prado.
After earlier having received a set of mud flaps from Frank, I found that the rear mud flaps for the 4 door do not fit the 3 door.
I contacted Frank who apologized profusely and we set about working out a solution.
Frank sent me a template to mark and even cut where necessary so that he could then produce a set for the 3 door Prado. He could not access a 3 door Prado at the time he was developing the 150 series mud flaps but thought they should be the same. Not so, thanks to Mr Toyota.
Frank’s customer service has been fantastic. He always kept me informed as to what was happening with my order and did everything he could to help.

              • Just got a call from local Toyota dealer, approval to replace mudflaps and paint bumper has come through, just need enough time in Perth to organize getting it done. I'll remove the original Rallyx mudflaps, see how the new ones go and refit them later.

A rig this big just isn't compatible with anything smaller...

                      • Thanks to this thread I have a new set of mudflaps on order, all I had to do was ask :-)

I have to say my dealer has been very good at sorting out any issues even though my 150 was purchased from them as a used vehicle. I guess it helps that they are a large dealership and my 150 still has a little bit of factory warranty left (but only just).

                        • Good result fido but doesn't explain the attitude on when it comes to other issues and inconsistency between dealerships.

                          • Well I haven't been so lucky on the tail shaft clunk, they are just going to grease it up when it's in for the mudflaps. At least the issue has been noted prior to the warranty expiring, hopefully they can't worm out of it should the re-grease trick fail. Mines not bad, just a bit of a shudder after stopping at the lights felt mainly through the brake pedal.

                            • I had the new mudflaps fitted yesterday. They are definitely longer and seem quite flexible, colour matching on the rears is fine too. New flaps sit around 205 mm off the ground at the front and 210 mm rear, that's with 265/60/R18 tyres. Old flaps sat 270 and 280mm off the ground respectively.

                              • Thought I'd add some pics to illustrate :-

                                Old flaps front -

                                New flaps front -

                                Old flaps rear -

                                New flaps rear -

You can see how much dirt was sprayed up underneath the car with the old flaps, has only been on dirt roads and no gravel yet since we've owned it. I haven't been able to get a really good look at the underside of the rear bumper but there seems to be some fairly solid crusting on it, not sure if it's damaged underneath that yet.
