Brake pads?

Hi all, just had a service don't at toyota dealer. Was told the brake pads had about 6mm left on them? This is like the "how long is a piece of string"... Anyone got an idea, on what sort of kms 6mm is good for.. I presume when new, they would be around 10mm? Cheers guys. Odog

Yeah, thanks Scruffy, was thinking maybe 50% or there abouts, got a 9000km trip end of next week, so check them when I get home.. Will have about 55000km on it by then.. Cheers

Depends on how you drive and all that stuff. I go down a very steep hill every day and have to stop half way down it to turn. Clock now about 120 000 km with original pads and they do not look like they will need changing anytime soon so my guess is that you will possibly get another 20 000 or more out of 6mm.
