  • shudder after braking to a stop

Just purchased a used 150 series GXL, Dec 2011 build, diesel, auto with 47000km travelled. While driving around town and braking to a stop at intersections, we are noticing a shudder in what we think is the driveline. It occurs as soon as vehicle stops. We have had a software upgrade at our local Toyota dealership which has not made any improvement.

Is this normal for this model or do we have an issue. Has anyone else experienced this concern?

Very common. Tailshaft clunk. There is a fix, new gold plated tailshaft, sorry DLC tailshaft. Talk to your dealer about a replacement. The initial fix is to regrease your existing tailshaft. If this doesn't work keep pushing for the replacement item. Search google for pradopoint+tailshaft+clunk. A few threads in both 120 and 150 sections.

thanks, wasn't sure if that was the problem or not as there is no actual noise when this happens. Will check it out.
