Hi I haven't pick up my Prado, has anybody reported this to Toyota Customer Service via their web page, this does work
Their is nothing to report, it is normal, saves the brakes. Stops the car from running away down hills.

Ok, well my transmission issue with downchanging is still there, and is certainly not right, I have a further question someone may be able to help with.
When coming out of a corner at slower speeds, 30 - 50ks or so, and accelerating out of the corner, the drive (Read:engine & Trans) consistently has a hesitation or stutter prior pulling on again at given acceleration.
Anyone else experienced similiar ? Was this issue a characteristic of the 120 D4D also ?
Based on the downchanging issue being somewhat resolved, the hesitation issue is now the main concern.
This cannot be normal, and must have something to do with Traction control and engine/gearbox mapping needing a tweak somehow ?
Any thoughts on this peeps? Has anyone had any success with their dealers on getting rectified ?
Yes, sorry that what I meant, the lag when you go around the corner, not the down changing I guess you need to report it to Toyota customer service and yourt dealer
Silver GXL 150 Diesal Auto, Tow bar Toyota bull bar rest to come when I get the car, eg BFG tyres, dual batteries etc

Is it not a bit of turbo lag?? Mine is a petrol so not sure issue is in the 120.

Hi all again
This needs to be reported to your service manager and Toyota Customer service web site so it can be fixed, its a $70000car!!!!!! and it shouldn't happen. The more poeople who report it the more chance it will be fixed. Tell them about the complaints you have heard, I centainly will be.

I have had this exact same thing too, most noticeable when coming out of roundabouts. I had my 1000kms first inspection today and reported it, on pickup of the car they said it was all to do with the electronics.
They said that the computer 'learns' driving styles and it could be getting confused if there is more than one driver, which there is of course. They reset the electronics in the hope that it will re-learn my driving style again. I am not too hopeful of the outcome, still noticed some hesitation occurring on my drive home from the dealer but will see if it settles after a while.
I also found that if I turn the Traction control aids off the problem seems to go away but that could be a coincidence
I agree, turning the traction control off does alleviate, but not eliminate the problem. I've been the only driver of mine (99% of the time) and
all I can say is, it must be a slow learner ! I have found an older post detailing a V6 Auto 150 also experiencing the problem, so suspect it's across the Autos.
As someone mentioned, nearly $70K on a car, the problem needs resolving, and it really pisses me when dealers give the answer that does'nt resolve the
problem.
I'm up for my 10K soon, and will be looking for a solution.........Hope i'm not Dreamen ?
I complained about it to the dealer - unfortunately I was told all were that way and it was normal. Since I have only driven mine, a V6, I can't verify if that is true...
Had a service done today, 8k, and had the auto update (remapping fix for overheating), and all seems good so far.
It would seem the whole vehicle is more responsive to the right foot, even when you give the accelerator just a little dab, it transfers more prominantly to
forward motion. DId'nt have the overheating problem in the past, but doing some serious towing this week, so will find out for sure.
Also got the Seatbelt bleeper debleeped, was'nt a problem for the service guys, they were only to happy to help.
That's good news - Toyota has scheduled my VX-L for Thursday for the recall reprogramming - maybe other fixes were incorporated (I have about 30K on it so far) - OK, so it doesn't hurt to dream
Towed 2 and a half tonne trailer, and at least another 800kg in vehicle from Hobart to Agfest (Northern Tas) today, and she went like a steam train.
Up over two of the biggest hills in tassie midlands (Spring and Constitution hills), back to 105 ish at the top, and gave her a fair belting most of the way sitting on just over 110.............No sign of a light or overheating issue the whole way
Looks like the fix works, and the hesitation seems to have been alleviated but not removed.
