Hi,
I really dont like that the factory diff lock on my new VX can’t be activated in high range.
For sand driving like the beach or the Simpson desert dunes, low range isn’t really practical.
In my facelift, I had front and rear air lockers installed. To me they are the best option as they can be activated in high or low range on the move. No need to stop, engage low, centre diff lock and then factory locker!!
I even was prepared to have an ARB air lockers installed both ends. ARB noted that with the factory actuator, they couldn’t install one on the rear. They even contacted Toyota and ordered in a GX front diff housing to fit the air locker to and then remove the factory housing. The large activator on the side of the housing is the issue, and why they tried the GX housing.
Has anyone found a way to active the factory locker in High range? I know that it all goes through up to 3 ECUs to make it all happen. A plug and play option would be great if some one knows something
Thanks.
