That way, the beeper still operates as a safety warning device if the door should be opened while the engine is running - it might be just a little bit annoying on rare occasions. It also allows the vehicle security function to work correctly if the driver's door is opened by someone breaking in.

Wire in a diode and a small low-current 12v relay from Jaycar or Altronics (the type with a single changover contact "SPDT"), so that the relay operates and disconnects the door switch wire when just the Accessories is 'on'.
I managed to access the larger versions of the images. With regards to your solution, do you think this is easy for someone with limited experience. I know how to operate a soldering iron, and I will be able to manage to remove trims etc. Do you have any pictures or instructions that a simpleton like me could follow? Really appreciate your help.

Connecting to the correct wires is relatively straightforward. However, making mistakes or poor soldering or bad insulation of the wires you tap into could have very expensive consequences. I am a semi-retired electronic engineer, so I have a good understanding of what I'm doing. I'll leave any decision to connect/disconnect/cut or join the wires up to you and take no responsibility for any outcome you have.

I have two photos that I took a couple of years ago before the work was complete and, unfortunately, none of the completed work. You will need to access (tap into) the Acc [Light Green] and IG2 [Light Blue] wires which will connect to the relay coil and diode. There are other options for accessing Accessories and Ignition power using piggy-back fuse connections in a fuse block.

Also, the FRCY (meaning Front Right CourtesY) switch wire [Black] has to be cut, since it will be connected to the relay (switching) contacts. You will see that in one of the photos I have cut that wire and added male and female spade connectors so that they can be reconnected when the relay box is not connected. (Ignore the other two wires that I have marked - they are the left and right indicator lights)

My suggestion is to initially have a look at the dashboard wiring under the steering wheel, take a close-up photo or two and do nothing further. It is quite a process to access the two plugs involved, starting with lifting the driver's door sill cover. I'll look at drawing up what is involved if you think you're up to going in deeper.
