My current Toyota "Hi Performance" battery is only 610CCA. I'm assuming it's the original battery, there's nothing in the service history (I have all the printouts) to suggest it's been swapped out at some stage.
Winston is talking diesel, you have a petrol which would explain the difference.

New to forum, have just bought a 2014 spec 150 TD and need some advice on dual battery set ups. I'm looking at a Redarc SB112 kIt and wonder if thats all I need for a basic dual battery set up, along with tray and battery of course? I won't be towing campers or caravans etc just want it for basic accessories like Driving lights, light bar, and for starting if I'm out for a while. Might get a fridge sometime down the track but my wife is a motel/hotel kind of explorer so other than stopping at the lake and fishing for hours and listening to music etc it won't get much of a workout. I've read some threads and people are talking about running full management systems, I just want to have a second battery so I can start the car if one goes flat.
In an under bonnet install and simple VSR together with a booster diode will give you
the most cost effective install, if you use a battery that can accept high recharge
currents it will also give you the fastest recharge times by far.

My apologies William, was not aware that one had to own a Toyota before one could post on this forum, nor did I know that owning a Toyota gave you a special right to deliberately mislead other Toyota owners on this site.
Have Toyota changed the air con pipe in the new facelift Prado?
Does the 12" Piranha tray still fit without too much bending and pushing?
No it's exactly the same.
I didn't need a 12" tray but liked the construction of the piranha tray compared to others, especially the way it mounts. But for it to fit that pipe needs moving quite a bit. So I cut the piranha tray down to a 10" tray and fitted it, even at 10" the pipe still needed moving over about 20mm. Made up a new bracket for the pipe and bolted it to the tray. All turned out well.
Yeah they do to, don't know how I missed that, thought they were all 12". I was going to try and fit the 12" but after getting the tray and seeing how far that pipe needs moving plus the extra weight of the 12" thought the 10" was a safer bet. Was easy to modify, just cut the folded up bit off and and bent up the end.
Posted the following, then discovered similar discussion earlier, but how many have done it?
Planning my dual battery set-up. Noticed the main battery doesn't have a tray as such, just piece of plastic, and sits out over the end of the platform (in 2014 Diesel). It just uses a cross-piece and hold down rods.
Would there be a problem with doing the same with the auxiliary? The hold down points are there already. A hold down bracket and two rods would provide the same security as that afforded the original battery. The most obvious problem would be relocating the A/C bracket, but that's possible.
Have ordered an Optima D34M, so it would be smaller and lighter than the cranking battery too.
