  • Main battery draining

    Hi all
I recently returned from a two week holiday to find my main battery was completely flat while the auxiliary was fine. I chalked it up to my reverse camera being manually left on. Crossed started and off I went.

A day ago I received my new fridge which I placed in the car and started running to see how long it would last
About 30 hours later I did a check
Aux battery is at 12.23 v
    Main battery is at 11.57

    WTF

Now I have confirmed the fridge is definately running off the auxiliary and the batt isolator has done its job.
But something is draining my main batt.
I hooked up a multimeter and can confirm that my main is draining at around .5 amps.
I systematically pulled the fuses under the hood but no change and I can confirm no light/chime or anything obviousness is powered.

    Any thought ??????

    Cheers

My original battery ceased and desisted at about 30 months, symptons were the same.

Yeah I'm thinking the batt may be U/S but the current draw threw me a bit. Ill try the alt connector and suss the battery tomorrow. After I fit my 2 inch lift that is.

What Steve said has merit mate...been there done that.. also another area to look at (personel experience) is dirt on the trailer plug connection..Some electrical brake plug connections have a small amount of power there all the time. When camping I've learnt to always disconnect the trailer plug when i pull up for the night.
