My iPhone no longer connects to our vehicle (2014 Kluger) via bluetooth due to IOS8 upgrades.

Yes! Now that you mention it. I've noticed the music streaming vis Bluetooth is unreliable and it often doesn't display the song info. hopefully toyota will sort it with an update ASAP as it will only get worse with iOS8 devices becoming widespread.

I have reported this via the Dealership and they advise they will also submit a 'Dealer Service Report' or similar to Toyota HQ. Hopefully Toyota will lobby Apple, given they have a corporate commercial relationship that is more likely to be acted upon quicker than a few individual complaints to Apple.

I encourage others to also report to Toyota to escalate the process.

Nothing to do with Toyota this is an Apple issue! Why would Toyota be responsible for a software update by a phone manufacturer?

It is Apple you need to be complaining to!

I think you're missing the point. I have submitted a report to Apple directly as a consumer of their product. However, the Dealership advised that because my vehicle's system no longer works with my phone (Apple product) they said they will also report to Toyota HQ. Why? Because their cars have corporate deals with companies such as Apple, gps systems, etc., and their customers (who buy their products) are complaining that their products (Toyota vehicles) are not meeting their customers needs because of a stupid IOS update (which Apple controls) that doesn't work. More significantly, Apple wants to ensure that its product are seamless with vehicles so that their market share and other products (iTunes, Maps, Siri, etc) become integral to those platforms.

              See:

              http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/07/26/why-apple-is-revving-ios-in-the-car-for-an-aggressive-2014-launch

              http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2014...n-the-Car.html

So, if you own a Toyota vehicle with a bluetooth system that no longer connects with your iPhone because of IOS8, report it to both Apple and your Dealership, because a corporate company complaining is much more likely to get Apple to fix the problem much quicker than a bunch of individual complaints from consumers.

                Totally agree NTP.
I did find that when my iPhone is connected via USB, if I swipe up to view the control centre with the phone locked there is a music control displayed and when I press play everything is normal again until I disconnect and reconnect my iPhone via USB and just have to hit the play button on the control centre again.

PITA but at least I can listen to tunes again.

BTW guys I don't use bluetooth for music but will give mine a test tomorrow and see if there are issues.

iOS 8 is buggy as hell. Worst release they've ever had. If anyone is still on 7, don't update yet.

iOS 8.1 is in Beta release so hopefully not too long until it's publicly available. Might sort some of the bugs and issues, but probably not the Bluetooth issue.

(My devices are still happily running 7.1.2)

Sad though it may seem working for a car company HQ (not Toyota) I can tell you that Toyota or any other car manufacturer have no interest in your IOS8 problem!
We are referring customers to Apple and the update itself. If you want a quick fix downgrade to 7 (if you can) or wait for Apple.
