The vast majority run new much larger cable (6 B&S typically) to minimise voltage drop. I use my inverter rarely but leave it where it is. I have an auxiliary battery in the back with a number of outlets. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Couple of things to consider. For $200 - 250 and a few hours you can fit an isolator like an SBi12 or equivalent and run some heavier cable to the back and install an Anderson plug. Obviously this assumes you have access to the appropriate tools and have the skills required.
In the back panel where the inverter is located there is also a 12V connector that I believe the GX uses for a 12V socket as opposed to the inverter that is fitted to the GXL and above. I have tapped into that wiring to trigger my BCDC1225. Having seen the size of the wires I wouldn't run 10A from it or the inverter full time. The wiring is as maulbeagle said ridiculously thin.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
