  • Central locking issues on 150 Series Altitude

    HI,

Looking for advice on Central looking issue I am having on 150 series.

Using the button on the key the drives door does not open - other doors do - I need to use the key in the door lock on the drivers door to open. If I was was to just try and open the drivers door using the key recognition by just pulling the handle, I get 5 beeps and the door doesn't open.

The rear door doesn't always unlock either using the button on the rear door. If I use the key to open the drivers door using the key lock, the passenger door doesn't always unlock.

Any advice on where to start for resolution is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Graham

Graham I've had problems with my GXL sometimes not unlocking and one time opening but not starting . It eventually unlocks after trying the remote and the rear door switch . I've changed the batteries in the remotes which hasn't made any difference .

I've got an odd one with my spare set of keys to which I had to use for some time as my boy lost the original set..

The fob did work when I replaced with a new battery and it would work for that day, but the strange part of it is that I would go to use it the next day and the (brand new) battery would be flat overnight, I literally went through 15 batteries trying to sort this as I had to constantly use the key and hold the fob on the start button every day to start the car.. (learnt rather quickly on how not to set the alarm off apon entering the car turn right / left / right to disable the alarm)

To this day it still does it but luckily I have found my original set of keys.

Asked Toyota on numerous occasions without a decent answer on why it keeps doing this..

Any thoughts as to why guys???🤔🤔🤔

The motors are operated by a pulse from the body ECU from memory, this
would be controlled from the security ECU. If your sure its not a mechanical
fault in the door lock motors caused by dust etc then unfortunately my next
suggestion would be to replace the body ECU and or the security module.

You could take it to an auto electrician and get them to check the drive pulses
etc, good luck with that one
