Led mounting position

I am going to run a lightbar either off the front of my pioneer platform which sits back about half way over the front doors or across the front of the windscreen with the brackets screwed into the A pillars.

Are there any pros and cons for either position?

Mount it further back so it doesn't reflect off the bonnet.

As Amts said, further back. It'll also stop your dash and windscreen from lighting up.
