12v outlet wires

Hi guys

Re. 12 volt outlet in center console (between front seats). Prado 150 late 2013 (update)

I cant find my multimeter. Can anyone please tell me which is positive and which is negative (green and white with black stripe). Guessing white with black stripe is neg.

you are correct , the green wire is positive , White / Black is negative.
Just under the white connector clip you will see a small L shaped black wire , that is a fusible link which melts if you draw more than 10amps through the socket.

Thanks Nudgebar. So 2 x 3.1A USB chargers piggybacked onto those wires would be okay then.

All done. 2 x 3.1A USB chargers installed in switch blank. So much neater than the cigarette USB charger plug.

Is the USB port 3.1A total or 2 * 3.1Amp? Most seem to give you a 1Amp port and a 2.1Amp port which totals 3.1 Amp across both ports. Sneaky marketing.

Edit: I checked the site and it is 2 * 3.1Amp which is great.
