Haven't used them but the Stedi 7" looks competitive.

Just buy a set of 9inch super center ones- they're incredible and cost a fraction of the price.

After driving a car for the last month with LED after having HID all I can say is yuck.. Plenty of light if you're not worried about whats any further than about 50-80 mtrs away.. But bugger all time to dodge Roo's and things until last second.. Back to HID for me with a small LED bar for close in fill.

2 kings spotties and a lightbar on the roof- They don't have the distance that HID's have, but honestly most roos can only be seen when you get close anyway- Usually hiding behind a guide post or in the grass by the sides of the road. I live in the bush and have found that these are perfect for the types of driving i do- Long single laned dirt roads that contain all sorts of suprises waiting to hop out in front of you (in the case of roos) or just stay on the road (in the case of cows). Have hit plenty of the former and none of the latter thankfully.

EDIT: Apologies for the photo, the camera doesn't really do it justice.

Same deal for me Piggy. I had the ebay cheapy HIDs on for a few years in 55W but they were starting to dull off. I relocated the roof tray 180W light bar to the bullbar in their place and I agree with everything you said. Led just does not have the range. The only nice thing was the instant on of the LED. Took me a couple of weeks, now I have a couple of Britax 9" HID on the bar and the LED is back on the roof tray for off road use.

That bonnet looks blinding.. Whats a picture like from eye height inside the car.. Looks like it has some serious flare back.

I found that my light bar on the roof does bring a lot of glare back- I managed to reduce this somewhat by mounting it further back and tilting it up a bit. I wouldn't want to have a light on my roof as the only solution, and I've seriously considered taking mine off as it's not perfect for what I want- Although it does give great spread up close, I'm waiting to see how it goes with my next bull bar (which is painted as opposed to polished alloy).

Yes. I’ve seen many a car with roof lights go down the path of a matt black bonnet wrap. Just because of this reason. I was in one the other day and I just switched the roof light off as it lit up everything. The aerials and sand flag blew your night vision out so you couldn’t see much distance at all. Was bloody terrible. Looked great up there but was hopeless.
