Oh nice. I got a superior one. Thought it would of been a lot higher but I can’t really tell the difference.
I’ll take a if of it tomorrow at work and post it up
The 275 tyres will hide a lot of the height gain. I put my lift in first with the std tyres and it looked like a roller skate. Then put the larger 265/70s on and it looks much better and less obvious.
The measurements above are from bottom of rim to wheel arch so they remove the tyre from the equation.
ie the measurement would still be the same whether you had 265/65 or 285/70s
Hey that’s what I measured. Hmm something doesn’t sound right with the lift then. I paid 3800 for the whole set up and haven’t made any more clearance from a 2” to a 3”
The height achieved from lift is very dependant on what model you have and what accessories you have fitted.
Mine is a V6 so less weight over the front than the diesel, and also I don't have dual batteries or winches, or anything other than an ARB bullbar, so this can all help..
Yeah I only have a Steel bull bar. Rams auperior and that have sent me the wrong rear shocks. Should of been heavy duty with what I carry at the back so that will give me another 25mm at the rear. But unsure why I have less clearance at the front? They are getting back to me tomorrow about it.
For reference, I measured a brand new 150 GXL, standard with leather seats on the showroom floor the other day.
Front: 760mm
Rear: 800mm
Most manufacturers tend to round up their lifts generously and refer to a 40mm lift as 2" and anything over that they call a 3" lift.
Genuine 3" suspension lifts are very rare, 835mm front and 865mm rear with 60mm downtravel is possible with careful research and the right components. I know Superior Engineering have a 4" Prado kit, but I suspect that too is closer to 3". You simply can't lift an IFS by a genuine 100mm with just a spacer diff drop, longer struts and UCAs and still have 60mm downtravel left.
If you fit 285s to a "genuine" 50mm lift, you will get a net 3" gain, I know the pic is a 120 but you get the idea:

Yeah for sure man, thanks for explaining that to me .
im just not overall happy with the lift to be honest woth you. Seeing that I got it to have abit more height on the 275s and after fittment found out that I have lost about 20mm at the front and 10mm at the rear is not good enough especially when I spend so much on it.
