Just about all battery negative wires (ie. chassis/ground) in the dashboard are black with white stripe. Black with white stripe is not used for anything else in the 150s, so you can't go wrong.

Would be much appreciated, I've been hunting this down for too long now! For clarity, I've got a 2010 Kakadu.
    Cheers!
I would ring Redarc customer support. Considering the dash lights are normally +VE and ground, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Don't worry, found a body earth stud just out of view in the jack compartment. Just follow the thick white wire.

The following seems to be the easiest pick up of IGN switched 12V at rear of car.

There is a White socket in the Jack compartment that will have the trailer wiring plugged into it.

In the picture below the trailer harness is on the right and the car side wiring is on the left.

There is a thin grey wire up one end opposite the yellow wire and next to the light green wire.

This grey wire is protected by the 7.5A IG1 fuse and is only at 12V when the ignition is on. (I didn't check if it is also on at accessories switch position.) It appears to be unused on my car as there is no wire to it in the mating socket to the trailer loom.

There are a heap of other circuits fed from this fuse so it would be advisable to only use it as a sense circuit and not draw power from it. I intend to tap into it and use a 1Amp fuse to protect upstream circuits.

There is also another grey wire on this socket. Thicker and having permanent 12Volts located in the centre of the socket. Likewise the heavy green wire is also permanent 12V. These wires are protected by 30 Amp fuses "Towing BRK" and "Towing". Not convinced that these wires are capable of anywhere near 30Amp though look way too thin.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me which colour wire on there is ground or negative? I want to wire a relay to switch a red anderson for my caravan. I'd prefer to wire tap a ground/negative rather than putting screws through the metal work.

    Thanks,

Use a plastic lever at the bottom of the module to pop it out of the corner panel. I bought a kit like this from Jaycar a few years ago. Great if you want to get behind many of the panels in any car without causing damage.

That is a brilliant idea!! Running 12V accessories from the 2nd battery with the IGN power set as the Relay trigger to consumers.

    TO THE SHED!!!

Hi Gee Whizz, I will look at the plug again on the weekend and note down the colours.

Can anyone confirm that the 2020 Prado does not have a radio security code ? Don’t want to disconnect the battery then find I needs code to get the radio to work

    Thanks

It's possibly related to the "Headlight Cleaner" (wiper control), although there are a LOT of connectors in the engine bay. Wire colours are Bk, Bk-Wh, Grn, Lt Blue, Wh, Vio? Give us some more clues.

Tapping into Green wire in the DAC 4 wire plug next to the Hi Low selector can be used for switch/dash illumination. Earth wire (if required) goes to the bolt behind the triangular padded panel in the passenger foot well.

No, I have connected to the sunroof +ve. I have the G switch option that will start the camera via its battery if the vehicle is knocked. My camera goes to sleep 10 seconds after turning off the ignition. It's a Navman Mivue
