there is no real evident either way. The circumstantial evidence out there is that there are hundreds of thousands of chip users all over the world. If chipping your vehicle was problematic forums like these, magazines, and every other media would be full of "BEWARE OF CHIPPING" warnings. The reason you dont see them is that chipping does not cause issues ... especially when tuned right. And on that note, we tune to Aussie cars on Aussie fuel quality.Originally posted by raydhillon View Postwhat are the warranty implications of using a chip on the toyota.... is there any evidence to suggest how long the engine will last with a chip tune ????
When a new model comes out people can come down to Balcatta and watch us tune them.
Whilst your close by, take a trip to Clarkson and take the happy snaps of us putting them altogether and post here so that folks (who shall remain nameless) can feel warm and fuzzy that we are not lying about where the product is made.
PS. all our slave labourer's are over the age on 20

Geoffury we recommend full 3". Reason is we want the engine to breathe as best it can.
For a standard engine 2.3/4 would be fine but after chipping it is no longer stock. I also recommend a K&N air filter for on road use (Again, this helps the engine breathe better. If you go off road swap back the factory paper cleaner.
vscorsa, yes before and after figures are shown and if do encourage owners to be there when the dyno run happens so that they can tell people that there was simply two runs with chip switched on and then off. No BSing the figures.
The boost is increase by max 4psi on our tunes. Can go higher but we prefer safe.

I have had my Chip It chip for over 9 months and have had no issues with the chip what so ever, but my 2010 Prado TD is a manual. The customer service from Chip It has been far better than I expected.
Would I recommend a Chip It chip, yes, but you need to do your research first to make sure it meets your expectations. If you want to chip your engine, you won’t regret it, just think about what you want from it. All chips have good points and not so good points.

fitted three tunit chips to 150's mine and mates, not one problem at all every thing works as it should fuel ecomony is amazing, power is just as great. there not water proof but hey you can also put them in a water proof box like any other chip. not sure if there australian made but thats doesnt bother me because it works every time all the time. there customer service was very friendly and helpful and they went above and beyond to help me with any questions i had. And the price was awesome will pass numbers and price over by p.m, im a diesel fitter installed it myself but any one who can read instruction should be able to complete this task.
in before someone claims i repersent tunit, im just happy with the product and im almost certain others would be. My opinion only take it or leave it
. i dont think i will have a problem but if i do ill will post here immediately and say my two cents about it.

Thanks ChipIt spot on.
I was going to call to discuss however I thought if I post here others maybe asking the same questions.
I live in perth so if I bring my Prado in will you guys dyno before and after figures if you install the chip and EGT sensor? Also what sort of boost increase do you require to gain these power increases?
Cheers
Dave

Hi Robert,
I'm looking at chipping the 150 diesel, and is there a type or size exhaust you guys recommend if I decide to change that as well?
Obviously everyone has their own opinion on this subject- full 3", 2.75", change the muffler only, but I'm guessing you guys would have a preference that best matches your chip, to give the best results?
By the way, where in Balcatta is your store? Being in Hamersley, it's easy for me to just come down and see you guys.

krypo read the review listed above. As time went on we fixed some of what he brought up to make the product better and at the end of his review you can get a feel as to his experiences in dealing with us.
He was not paid for his services. Just a customer who owed another chip

Can we move on now. Not sure that this was the purpose of the thread, as per the thread title I'm interested in hearing the experiences of people who own the Chip and not tyre kickers.Originally posted by mark360 View PostThanks for the explainations. I still dont understand why your moneyback guarantee cant be unconditional...something about all the people just taking it for a spin then returning it ?
Like the poster above im also not impressed with the continual bagging of competitor products. If yours is so wonderful can't it simply stand on its own merits? Often the bagging is totally incorrect. In fact I emailed one of your competitors regarding claims you make about them on your website and their reply was quite interesting and I'd be happy to post the info here if people are interested. Perhaps you might even be able to address the issues it raises without calling me names

frederick, Being a small company making some good product is not altogether easy but why bring out another chip without trying to be better? I agree with Piggy about. We cannot state differences without telling about our strengths over the weaknesses of others. At no time do we ever say ... the competition are sh1t. We never attack the person but compare products.
vscorsa a guy wrote quite a long review about our product. He too felt like he wanted to go down the route of fitting the module into a water proof case from Jaycar.
http://www.australianimage.com.au/chipit14.html
The last 5 paragraphs are his summing up of the review if others are interested however his JayCar case pics were great so may be of interest if some wish to see what someone else thought of our Chip.click the page before to see them.

He wrote: "The first thing that I did was go to Jaycar and see what sort of instrument boxes they had available and I found just about the right size, an ABS case (CAT. NO. HB6126)"

Hope this helpsLast edited by Chip It; 12-05-2012, 12:55 PM.

Heya,
Do you have a link to the Jaycar case you are talking about?
Cheers

We have had all of 1x chip come back to us for warranty due to water ingress. Seems like our limited water proofing methods work so no need to change it.
As mentioned the unit CAN be fitted inside the cabin or buy a JayCar case if they have concerns.
You have had me an others address all of your concerns a few times over but still that does not prompt you to write and say thanks for the explanations.
