Hi Eugene
we can program it to either LOWER the tune or dump the performance tune completely.
The reason it comes out of the factory with the second option is that we want the engine to get back to "normal" temp range as soon as possible and we dont know if the temps will lower if we just reduce tune by ... say 10% or 15%.
We can switch between maps. Again ... whatever is programmed to the second map. But remember the reason we have the EGT controller is so that you have HIGHEST power that YOU like for as long as the temps are "reasonable"
This is what I have on my car too.
Just makes sense this way. ie Give me the max setting but dump it if it gets too hot. A dual map switch is available but the EGT controller would not be using a STILL lower tune. It has only two maps it can switch between and if u have the switch on the lower setting you have switch ed to the map that the EGT monitor would be switch to, from the higher map (hope that is clear)
Yes we can use other means to detune.
Yes to intercooler sprayers and the like. The relays can be added to board at time of order for no extra cost (to you). The ON point can be via load or boost as these are what we are "sensing". The EGT monitor would not be able to switch it on as we set the "alarm" ON point too high for effective I/C spray cooling. On HIGH LOAD would be the best as high load would be the time when air is the hottest. You could set the on trigger to trigger a timed relay so that the count of say 1 minute would keep the spray working for that time or if the load was continuous the relay would just stay on. These relays are available from Jaycar.
If you have more technical questions, feel free to call me on 0412 304030
Thanks
