My engine chipping experience so far

Got the harness back today, there appeared to a problem with a pin in the 22 pin socket. Now installed and got the beast flying again.

thanks for posting a good report guys. Wish we could upload the smiles too. Mine as well. I love driving my car with the chip. BTW, after you have had the Chip on for a while, disconnect the Chip (using the 22 pin test plug we supply) and feel of what the car was like BC (Before Chip). You will be surprised what power you had (and what you were putting up with) stock

It really is amazing going backwards ... hard to explain to those that have never tried it

Had the chipit chip out for a week, just put it back in today.
It was an eye opener to find out what the car was like with out the chip fitted.

I am very pleased to have it back in. Iv'e got the power back. YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!

While the chip was out I kept an eye on what the egt was doing only to find that there is no noticeable difference at all.
It was running at about the same temps, around town & on the highway.

Now who was it who wanted that race??

I have the Chip IT module and has been good for about 2 weeks except a couple of days ago. Sitting at the lights and the engine stopped. Came up with P0093 code (excessive fuel leak). Re-started the engine and cleared the code and all is good. Just sprayed WD on the exhaust bolts for tomorrow when I install the bigger exhaust

Just make sure the turbo is COLD when you go to undo the nuts.

For sure. I have a butane torch for the nuts if required. The repair manual states to use new nuts on the turbo...

Also, what gasket is used on the turbo at the kit only came with two.

Just reuse the pressed steel gasket. Dont use any sealant on it.

Just pulled the chip out for a service this week and noticed that my injectors are a lot quieter. Has anyone else noticed a change in injector noise with the chip?

Yep and is normal . With my previous brand of chip it was even noisier.
You think D4D is noisey with a chip have a listen to a Ford Powerstroke out of the F series trucks standard or chipped.

That' the extra boost that is adjusted to compensate for the extra fuel.

could be krypo. do a google search for toyota noisy injectors. if your still under warranty, jump up and down with toyota. they do replace them IF YOU MAKE ENOUGH NOISE AS WELL !
