I ran my v6 to 0 on the trip today and then 20k past that before I bottled out All I could get in was 128 lts. This is so frustrating as my 90 series was deadly accurate and I could put 150 lts in that,

If you do run out of fuel what is the process of getting started again? Can you just put fuel in and crank till it starts or do you have to bleed the system manually?

I've been on zero range for a couple of days now, so we'll see what happens. Normally at zero range I can only put in 130l so I should have 120-150kms available

According to the manual 0 range = 20 litres left in the tan.
Based on my experience this seems very accurate.

Has anyone noticed the Litres Per Hundred built into the dash reads around 10% low normally and 10% high when towing?

I've had mine reading 100% high when towing... I got 600km out of the tank before I was on 0km to empty.

When I filled up I could only get 90L in the tank. Toyota weren't too interested in the discrepancy.

Hey Guys don't forget the heat generated by the high rail pressure which is cooled by the volume of fuel flowing back into the tank which act as a heat sink. Yes there is a fuel cooler on the return line but performance will drop off if the fuel becomes too hot.
So not a good thing to run below that last 20lts

Mine is getting low.. If ya's reckon there is 20 litres left at zero range, I am cheering this tank. I hope the 20 litres is for real !!

Distance travelled this tank so far..

Here is what the in dash says is left..

I refilled the Prado on the way home. I have worked out that when my fuel light comes on there is 13 or 14 litres left in the tank. Basically, my scan gauge II is reading spot on after 11,000 Kms of calibration. I averaged 57km/h, travelling too and from work which is only 39kms each way, so I am really only just getting it warm. It did exactly 1302 kms for 136 litres. That's 10.4 litres per hundred Kms and I'm very happy with that, as my car is not stock standard, by any means.

The light coming on while driving home today..

The total distance I covered with 136 litres..

The fuel used when I stopped refilled the tank..

How much fuel was left in the tank before refill..
