EGR blanking plate to block off or restrict?

Ok so I though I would have a lock at my EGR what a mess.



SO I guess now I need to remove it and give it a clean. My google skills are failing me whats the best way to remove the EGR? I'll jump on eBay now and buy a plate. 7mm the way to go?

My EGR plate with 7mm hole went in today. I will be very interested in what impact apart from cleaner intake. I did notice smoother idling on the way home and the engine seemed quieter - or was I just 'wishing that'?

Cleaner oil.

Had a service just on 3 weeks ago and had a EGR blanking plate with 7mm hole installed. Seems to be working fine but now have had 3 P0400 codes crop up - about 1 a week under normal driving conditions. Easy to clear with the scan gauge. But wondering whether I should be concenrned about installation or other issue.

There's thousands out there with 7mm plate.
Is it in the right place?

Did they put all vacuum lines back correctly.

EGR Plate question

I am about to fit one after 5,000 klms from new.
Did you use any gasket sealant on the plate or just install it as is?

Can someone point me in the direction of where I can buy a restriction plate for the 2.8ltr TTD GDJ150 please. I cannot seem to find them anywhere.
