Well I have ordered a blanking plate with 7 mm hole, have done 130k so assume nothing has ever been cleaned and from what I have read here better set aside a whole day to fit, clean egr valve and inlet manifold etc. Anyone who has done this before got any good tips. I hope 7mm hole is gonna be good for me and not throw any codes, 150 series.

The tip is allow 2 days. Even better, don't do it unless you have a lot of patience and are mechanically apt.
Second tip is, it's not usually worth removing the manifold, just the egr valve & elbow section.
If you muck up, you will think its the plate, but it's something you forgot to put back, tighten or put in the right place.
I regularly get calls from DIY telling me how they have an engine light. There's a number of things can be forgotten so feel free to call if it happens.
If you just clean egr & fit plate, you should get that done in under a day.
Have fun!

As for fault codes you will be fine Tin and I tested it on mine we started with 7mm and to stop codes unfortunately had to go to 12mm hole but the egr pipe is quite large than the 3ltr.Arb colour code deluxe bar, safari snorkel, lightforce venom HID's, GME uhf remote face, redarc tow pro, redarc bcdc 1240, pioneer platform, 40" curved light bar, dual battery, 3" SS exhaust, EGR mod, trans cooler upgrade, provent catch can, scangauge 2, diesel care secondary fuel filter, Tin's bash plates and actuator gaurd, 2in Bilstien and kings lift,

Im told The egr is bigger & naturally would be open more to supposedly reduce nitrogenoxides.
IMO it's worth killing it ASAP. I have heard 13mm is the go. Is it sufficient???? Who knows.

Is there any photos/instructions on where to install the Plate, as Tin said the plate doesnt come with any instructions ( or have I missed some instructions here somewhere on the forum)
UPDATE:
Okay I found it via the photo near the firewall of the car. There is a metal gasket currently in the position, so I assume I remove that and replace it with the restriction plate?Last edited by davman75; 24-03-2017, 12:11 PM.
